Got a new TV this weekend
I was at sears this weekend, and I saw that they had a 27" JVC flatscreen tv on clearence (it was the display model) for $474. Not too shabby seeing that it was $749 retail : )
Anyways, this tv is awesome! The picture quality is unreal (better than sony wega, IMO), and there are ton's of features. Before this TV, I had a crappy 19" Phillips with no inputs/outputs other than coax.
On this TV, I have 4 composite inputs (A/V or RCA, whatever you want to call them), 2 s-video inputs, and 2 component inputs. On the front there is access to a set of composite, and an S-video for easy access. It also has a set of audio-out to go to a receiver or the like.
The sound is pretty good, definately better than my old tv. There is a cool feature that if you have a JVC VCR or DVD player, you can hook up a proprietary cable between them, and whenever you'd put in a movie, it would automatically change the channel for you and start the movie. Cool feature indeed : ) I originally wanted one without picture in picture, because I'll never use it, but the display model came with it, so the more the merrier : )
Anyways, if you're in the market for a new TV, you can probably get a good deal on this one! The 27" without PIP was $499 on sale at sears, still a freaking great deal if you ask me! : )

Now all I need is my leather couch, loveseat, and recliner.... Oh yea, and some surround sound... Then I'll be set!

Nice! I've got a JVC 27" tv (curved screen )
Whenever I'm TV shopping, the nicest pictures are always on the Toshibas and JVC's. And yeah, you definitely need to get a DVD player and component hookup. You'll wonder how you ever survived on VHS

I will tell you, I got a 27" flatscreen Sylvania TV for $375, about 4 months ago. And the picture is unbelievable. And the best part is that I have the original Nintendo system hooked up to it, and it is absolutely awesome. I bought it at Sears, by the way. And even though the brand isn't Sony or Magnavox, it works unbelievable.
