got ripped off on ebay
I bid on a stock MP3 exhaust (made by racing beat) on ebay. I won the auction for $26.50 and sent the guy a payment plus $35 for express shipping. He never sent me the muffler. I filed a fruad report, and they told me that they found him at fault, but were unable to retreive any funds for me . I was just wondering if anyone lives in nebraska and would kick the guys *** for me.

That sucks hard. People are always saying EBay is good, but experiences like this scare me right off of ever buying anything off of there.
Wil also seems to be the EBay Avenger...Kick some butt guys!

Sorry you went thru that...
Now it's a bit late for this but... Did you checked the seller's feedback? My first auction was also a scam... Bought a PDA and I did received the unit but with a broken screen.
Lately I've had good experiences buying stuff, including a newer PDA and even a laptop computer (which I'm using to send this reply )
Also pay by credit card, if you can. That way you have a little extra protection against fraud...

yeah, I checked his feedback. He had four positive and no negs or neutrals. They were all for purchases. He had emailed me, and I know his name (eric *****). He also said that his location was Scottsbluff, Nebraska. When I searched the web for his name, nothing. But when I searched nebraska for that last name, I got the name of a female with the same last name in a town about 3 miles from scottsbluff. Anyone live in NE?

How did you pay him?
If it's via a money order, you can ask the bank where you bought it from who cashed it. If it's via paypal, you can contact them and they maybe able to get you some more info.
Ebay does have fraud protection that will reimburse you some cash but there is a $25 deductable the most you will get back is $1.50

it was through paypal. i contacted them and they did an investigation. They concluded that he did infact rip me off and is guilty of fruad, but they couldn't get me any money back. It's also too late to file a report with ebay, and it's not worth the trouble for $2.50. I was hoping they would re-emburse shipping costs too, but they don't. The only option now is to fly to nebraska and severly hurt the guy.

That sucks dude.
My brother got ripped off on a sway bar for Civic. He bid on the sway bar that was $30+ cheaper (who wouldn't want it?). Seller claim it's the true mugen, never been used. Yet, when we received the item, it wasn't true mugen, but an aftermarket sway bar with Mugen sticker on it. After that, the guy never wrote a single email back to us.
My advice is that when you're bidding on an item. I would highly suggest you guys bid on someome who has alot of feedbacks (maybe 10 or 20+), and about 98% of them are all positives. In addition, make sure the seller has alot of "S" (means seller) for the past items.

his email said his name was eric *****. He also mentioned that he worked at a shop, and his email address was kaotic_importz@hotmail.com I don't know if that means the name of the shop is kaotic importz, but I searched for it on the web. Found some shops called that, but no luck in Nebraska. Also, when I searched for the name ***** in Nebraska on yahoo people, all I recovered is an Elizabeth, a Jane and a Steven all in Gering NE (which is just outside of scottsbluff, so they have to be related to this guy/kid). Hope that'll help a little more. Let me know if you need any more info, and I'll see what I can come up with.
