The Grinch struck early
Well if it isn't the season to be kind to our fellow man ,and yes ladies. Here I am all proud of my new winter tires ,Hakka 1's snug as a bug in a rug ,when this morning on my way to get my car ,I notice my car is tilted to one side , upon further inspection .......gasp ! the horror..somebody stole all four of my winter tires with rims and left my baby with one jack and the rest of her lying on her belly . **** was I steaming !! ,I am sure however I am not the only person this happens to ,It's like a strong kick in the ***** ,when something like this happens to you.
But as we speak new tires are on the way ,I will try lug locks ,maybe they will deter theives for the next time!?.
Sorry if am sounding like a baby but I just had to tell someone who might be able to relate.
Indigo
P.s Santa I would like the following two items for christmas......
1. A motion alarm
2.The head of the mother f%^&er who did this .
thank you

Dude that sucks. It's amazing what people steal these days. If its any conselation I interrupted a bunch of wheel thiefs on my way back from working a night shift. They were trying to rip off a guys rims and tires from his brand new cavalier parked on the side of my road. I scared them away when I came up the street in my car. Promptly called the cops.
Well one for the good guys I guess.
Stocker.
(They had all four rims off and the car was on blocks when I showed up.)

you know, i never thought of people stealing tires. It's common sense to get wheel locks to prevent people from stealing alloy wheels but never did it cross my mind that people would steal steel wheels with good tires. these days you can never be too careful.

dont even bother with wheels locks, they are worthless.. get the offset allen kind. that way that cant shove a socket over it and get them. or inverted spline drive but not external. its crazy why people do this, i mean my buddy had his stolen, then he saw them on a car the next day (small town, duh) needless to say he followed them home and kicked his *** and got them back but its dumb. i guess we might have to get a chain with a padlock at night when we park!

And sorry, but I have to laugh about Canadians stealing snow tires. I didn't even know you had crime up there, but I guess if they're going to steal anything it would be something important like those.

they are inverted. where you put in a big *** allen wrench instead of the wrench going over the lug. but thats normal on special aftermarket wheels because they have to have small lugs to fit, but the ofset kind is sloted enough that normal ones wont fit like 15 mm or whatever. they make each one a key per set and are different. only prob with these is if they try to mess with them they strip the lug inside. but they dont get your wheel and a tire shop will know how to get them off. but normal wheel locks are easy to get off even the McGards. right tools make it easy. FYI do what ya want. they arent my wheels. my wheels are safe.

I was reading some british car magazine and they had an experienced car thief try to steal a car with different types of teft prevention devices. He got the wheel lock nut off with a large chisel and a mallet. I think it took him 15 seconds. I'm not sure though if the lug snapped or the nut gave way.
