That messed me up to...I was wondering why someone was celebrating thanksgiving in the middle of October...when in the states we celebrate at the end of November.

well, in quebec you can start drinking at 18, but the rest of the place its 19.

 

Canadians giving thanks for what? Sorry for the ignorance. Not too good with north of the border history. US gave thanks for enduring the harshest winters with the aid of the native americans..... 1st ever, I imagine.
