Hit by a drunk driver...
Saturday night I was coming home from a party. I was going down a straight road and coming up to a light. My way it was green so of course I kept my speed (40mph). As I was approaching there was someone comething the other way that suddenly crossed the median and hit me head on. I had time to slam on the brakes and hit a curb as well as the guy. This was with my 2002 SVT Focus I've worked my but off to afford. Now its a probably going to be a POS when I get it back.. If I do. I find out tomorrow what's gonna happen with it. The guy was also uninsured but the car is less important then I am. I came out of without any broken bones or anything. A few scratches and bruises. I can honestly say I was very lucky and from now on I won't be driving at midnight. Well that was how my weekend was. It was exciting and now I feel horrible because my friend who i bought the Focus from was crying. Oh well.. He wasn't the only one.. but hey its only a car.. and after i'm done with this guy maybe it'll be a new one!

I'm going to the Ford dealership tomorrow to meet with the insurance company and the body shop to see if anything can be done with the car. I'm going to try and get pics and what not while I'm there. I will say its not looking too pretty because I got hit by an suv and a curb. The front is smashed pretty good. I know it will be totalled but there's still this small hope that the car isn't as bad as it looks.

Well glad to hear you're doing well though!!!
I just don't want to hear about anybody else being killed by a drunk driver any more
Hopefully you won't have any problems with insurance. Fortunately over here it's illegal to drive without insurance. IIRC that's not true in Florida... well hope it works out for the better.

Jeez, sorry to hear that. At least you're ok. I know, that doesn't mean much now. I'd be ripped. Some of the guys on Focaljet might know of some parts to be found if you need them. Some of them have had some wrecked SVTs too, unfortunately.

I met with my insurance company today at the dealershup that has the Foci. I don't know how I came out of it alive at all, and even with only scrapes and bruises. The car is not repairable at all. The engine was pushed into the passenger foot well, the frame isn't bend but twisted completely, and the doors are bent too far out of place. The vehicle will be totalled friday but I decided to ask if I could "steal" a few things to remember it by. I took about the only things that weren't messed up.. I have my turtle that was on my rearview mirror (joke with a friend from the protege cause it was slow), my back bumper (hah don't ask), and of course the chip.. about the only that wasn't messed up in the engine. Oh yea.. the flywheel was bent, radiator broken in half, headers cracked, and of course the shift kit was broken somewhere in the linkage. Like I said, I'm very to lucky to have come out the way I did. I'm sueing the guy that was drunk for 15 k's because that's what the car cost me and since the uninsured motorist wouldnt cover much I need to do it. Its going through small claims court so no lawyers needed. Oh well.. I'm working on getting the pics on here so as soon as i get them i'm sure i'll have a huge title... Until then, thanks for the concern! even though it was a Focus I was driving.
