How boring is F1 now?
The last couple of years I have lost most of my interest in F1. Schumacher this, and that, and you can tell that either Ferrari, Williams, or McLaren will win. Since 1997 with the exception of Jordan, Beneton, and former Stewart, those have been the only teams to record wins. I do not dislike Schumi, he used to be my favorite driver when he drove for Beneton and won his first two championships. Him and his team were also found cheating, and I picked someone else. There is a lot talent out there - Nick Hiedfield, Kimi Raikonnen, Yarno Truli, Jenson Button, Ralf Schumacher, and others. But whenever I watch a race, I only begin to care who is going to finish 2nd, 3rd, or who will get points at all. You know who is going to win, so what is the point of watching? I think if Schumi get his title this year, he should retire. He is a true professional, and he has broken almost all of the records. I mean look at the guy. He make close to $50M a year. He has Ferrari's back for the rest of his life. What else could he ask for? I just want to see how the racing is going to be wihtout him.

Well, another Grand Prix went by, and guess who won - Schumi. And he was gifted the win too. I really hate when the teams give out orders. It got bad last year, when exactly the same thing happened. Barichello was first, Schumi second, and Barichello was order to let Schumi by, to just in case help out his Championship points. Well, it was redundant last year, and it is still is redundant this year. Schumi already won all but 1 races of this season, and since no one besides Williams teams is not doing anything about it, Schumi might as well be awarded his championship right now, and just let everybody else enjoy the sport. I think Schumi has become increadibly selfish! Shame.

i don't think Shu made the call. it was a TEAM decision. he's just a driver, i don't think he's selfish at all. did you see how happy he was when ralph won earlier this year.
you're right, there isn't enough parity in the sport. ferrari invests almost 300M per year in F1 and other teams (save Williams) can't compete. same thing happens in baseball, though.
i'd like to see more competition but, i still enjoy the races. nothing sounds like those cars at full song; shifting at 18,000 RPMs.

Yeah, I know he didn't make the call, neither did it happen last year. It was ordered by the team boss Jean Todt. But it is the same thing Schumi said this year and last that ticked me off. He said that what if have finished second, and in the end of the year lose by a few points (4 points is the difference between 1st and 2nd place finishes)! And he crushed every body last year, those point didn't matter, neither they did now. It just makes Rubens carrer look like crap. Rubens could have a better chance of driving for someone else. Think of it, he only drives for Ferrari so they can win Constructor's Championship. Everyone knows that Schumi is going to get this year too, and this year will be the same as last - boring!
RPM keep me sound and well too. I have an mp3 of Williams Renault doing one lap around Belgian track. It is a really good quality, and it is heaven to my ears everytime I listen to it.

My $.02
My favorite quote was (something like this) "what if at the end of the year we are 3 points short of the championship, then we would look stupid for not doing this today"
Guess what
THEN YOU DIDNT DESERVE IT!!!!!!!
God i love these cars and i used to watch with enthusiasm now why bother, that was a joke BOO ferrari (and did they ever).
Ill take my "southern rednecks"(as some idiot on another board put it so eloquently not even gonna start with that comment) any day.
And do not get me wrong i love F1 but not they way it was today, and not the way it has been recently. JMHO

Well, I guess there is a small light at the end of the tunnel for me. I just have read that Ferrari as a team along with Michael and Rubens are going to appear at FIA's World Counsil. I hope this won't turn out into an oncoming train! Because then, it is back to BORING!

I guess its still a business, got to hand it to Shui to put Rubens on the top podium, and give him the trophy though. He even said Rubins won, "but" its still BIG business.
I was impressed by Villeneuve though. From 17th to third! Then 7th- then blew the car to ****. Talk about driving the car to death. I figure he's shooting to get on a new team (thank god). He even said the way its been for the last three years who would want him. I bet he drives like a madman for the rest of the season to help get off BAR.

dunno if you guys remember, but before when marlboro team had senna and prost, it was real racing back then, I think around 1985-87 or something like that. both these guys were on the same team and they would be fighting for 1st and over taking each other every other turn and eventually crash each other out. that was real racing.... was there to watch if the winner always finishes like 1+ mins before the second place guy??
haven't watched F1 ever since the intense overtakings stopped

I think we're being a little harsh on Ferrari here, people. You're telling me that if you were in control of the team and your goal is to win the championship with your designated #1 man (they pay him the big money) and you have a chance for that driver to take first place over your #2 man and you aren't going to do it? There is a TON of money in this thing (just look at Schumacher's deal - he's the highest paid athlete in the world) and Ferrari is just supposed to give away advantages?? Someone said it earlier - it's a TEAM sport.
Oh yeah, there is nothing like hearing a McLaren blast down a straightaway. I had a friend who *lucky bastard* got to see the Monaco Gran Prix last year. He said the McLaren was so high pitched that it sounded almost like a jet engine. BTW Ferrari won
