How many hours per week do you spend making your car look new?
Just a question to you the people of this forum. I believe most of you spend considerable time, or else you wouldn't be on the forum anyways.
I spend about 15 minute wash and dry each week, and then a through interior wipe and vacumn and wax each month. More in the summer of course.
And it looks real good. Good enough in fact that this restaurant owner asked me if I got a new car lately? I replied that I got the P5 1.5 years ago and then he said "No way, it looks brand new."

I don't wash my 323 because the paint is so shitty... The front half would look almost kinda nice, but the back still looks like ****, hehehe... I try and keep the interior clean though
If I had a newer car, I'd probably clean it all the time, but there isn't much helping my cars right now until I get it painted.

I spend one hour everyday detailing my car. I spent all day yesterday detailing and it rained last night. I spent 1 1/2 hours cleaning it this morning. It gets wiped down every morning and night. People say I am going to rub the paint off. No swirl marks at all the paint looks like show quality everyday. I found that the rags I was using were scratching the paint. I now buy 100% cotton microfiber towels. 6.99 for two at the local checker auto parts. It makes all the difference in the world. The car can be covered with dust, wet the microfiber towel and wipe the paint. No scratches at all. Follow it up with a clean microfiber rag with a little quick wax from Maguires and a perfect showroom shine. Wash the towels in the washing machine with NO FABRIC SOFTNER, they come clean just like brand new. Hope this helps anyone who is tired of fine scratches in their paint. I wax every two weeks because Mazda paint sucks.

I don't think I've spent an hour total in the past MONTH washing my car.
It gets so damn dirty so damn fast, I can't bother. When it was new I washed it at least every other day.
Maybe when I move into my new house, things will be different - it sucks going to the DIY carwash. Ugh.
On a different note - for those of you worried about washing off your paint:
A buddy of mine bought one of the funky new Toyota MR2s a while back - probably a 2002 model. He got the lemon-*** yellow one.
Well, he's a bit nutty and will buy a new car and immediately put 15 coats of wax on it - he'll spend that first weekend doing nothing but waxing and polishing - you shoulda seen his '97 Vette - shined like no other.
Anyway - the MR2: He's going nuts, waxing and buffing and polishing. And he's using an electric buffer. And he buffed RIGHT THROUGH THE PAINT on the edge of the rear of the car - down to the black primer. I laughed my *** off for days.

I'd have laughed at him too!

I wash my car twice a month, clean the inside once a week, and wax about 4-5 times a year. If I had more time I would do it more often. I believe that your car shows a lot about your personality. How much you take pride in your posessions.

I would say I wash my car once a week because of the damn rain. If it didn't rain so much, I wouldn't have to wash it so much. I usually clean the inside when I clean the outside. Maybe a little more because of all the dust that gets in it when I have the sunroof open and the windows down. Wax every couple months. And I wash and wax the wheels everytime I rotate them.

I used to wash her about once a week, but lately I've fallen behind. The sprinkers in my apartment complex use this really nasty water, and it leaves nasty brown water spots all over my car. Nearly impossible to get off too. Oh well, as soon as I get a week off I'll have to do a clay bar treatment.
I also polish/wax every 2-3 months, sometimes more if I have the time.

In the spring I spend a whole weekend detailing the car ,Then its once a week for a wash ,vac, windows ,. every month the car gets a coat of wax . If it needs a touch up I use Mothers Showtime . In the fall its 2 coats of wax .
During the winter ,All I do is rinse the worst of the crud off the car when its warm enough . a quick vac .
I would say I spend 4hrs a week on the car detailing .
