I hate power hungry boss's
Man, I hate this b*tch. First off let me give you some background. I manage a RadioShack store and it just so happens that our district office is in the back side of the building, attached to my store. Anyway, I get along great with my District Manager and my District Secretary. I occasionaly go out to the bar with him after work to let off a little steam. His daughters and wife know me by name, and they are very nice, (he has three really "enthusiastic" little girls) Anyway our Regional Manager has been in town for a couple days now and she is a power hungry sucubus. One of my employees stayed 2 hours late last night to put a new nerver on our computer system ( he did this totally voluntary) Anyway she comes in this morning about an hour before we open and sees a few miniscule pieces of paper on the floor of my store. I proceed to tell her that my guy stayed two hours late, but she didn't want to hear it. I told her that when I was talking to him last night on the phone I told him not to worry about vacuming last night I would come in early this morning and do it. She didn't care for this awnser and said that company policy is that you vacuum every night, not every morning. What the hell?? I better make sure the carpet is nice in clean in case someone decides to break in and gets offended that someone didn't vacuum!!!

I have the same sort of problem. My 'manager', as far as I am concerned, doesn't manage anything. It pisses me off! Here I am and I am sitting here 90% of the time doing nothing. I feel more valuable at home. The only good thing so far is that I am getting paid. But I value being busy and feeling needed than the other way around. I might be silly but I want more work. I need a real manager! Thanks guys for letting me rant with SHACK.

My previous boss was a micromanager. While migrating our data from a mainframe to a Solaris box, he concentrated the project in the design of the new database. My requests to include data migration, validation and report generation tasks in that project went to the round file.
The worst was when he assigned me and my team a project and then made us stop to work on something 'urgent'... After a while he would ask about the status of the *first* project.
Well, after a while we all got fed up and started to slow down...
In the end he got fired...

My current boss is a micromanager. Best way to get rid of one is to start doing something they don't understand. Once you make them look like an *** a couple of times for asking stupid questions or making stupid suggestions they usually just leave you alone to do your work.
