Love bugs
For all that live in flordia. Love bug season is here and I am all ready to freak out . My car is covered with the little *******. I just washed my car and there must have been 100 of them on it. Thank god it only lasts a couple of weeks.

2002VividYellow, love bugs are these LOVELY little black flying bugs we have down south....in their mating season...which is NOW....the males and females HOOK UP butt to butt and fly around like that in swarms.....they are EVERYWHERE...they are unavoidable.....a lot of people put mesh screens on the fronts of their cars to keep their radiators from getting fouled as well. these little critters make a hell of a mess...and if I didn't know better....as with all the damn bugs around here....I would just about bet a pay check that the people that make SUPERGLUE are in reality catching these things...grinding them up and taking all the juice and bottling it....for if you let them dry on your car....they are hell to get back off....and as the bug decomposes it produces acid and it will literally EAT your paint.

this is what I do....I have a wash cloth....I get it damp and put in inside a sammich sized ziplock bag and put it in the back....I also have a nice old terry cloth towel there too....I drive to work....get out...open the back, get out the bag, go to the front of the car with the damp wash cloth and the towel and wipe off all the fresh kill.....clean as a whistle.....then they don't STICK to the car when they dry out. Some of the guys at work poke fun because I keep my car looking so clean.....but they all drive POS pickup or something else that isn't even worth washing....so I pay them no mind.....after all.....its MY car that is getting all the attention! :{D

Hmmm makes me wonder.....
On our way back from our honey moon last year (in Florida) I thought we were experiencing the apocolypse. First we saw a tornado (scary ****!!) And then, we drove through a swarm of what I thought was LOCUSTS!!! We were going across a bridge and then all the sudden it looks like smoke ahead.... really just lots and LOTS of bugs! Everywhere! I wonder if those were love bugs? If so, I never want to EVER see a love bug again! They really are a pain to get off your car!!

IF the bugs you drove through were small and black...probably so...however....florida has some of the BIGGEST DAMN GRASSHOPPERS you will ever see....they are yellow and black and three to four inches long!!! I ran into a bunch of them on my way to datonya beach one evening during spring break...I was riding my motorcycle....they were so bad I turned around an went back to orlando....stayed the night and took off the next day in the day light.

I HATE THESE F'n THINGS!!!!!! ARGGGGGGGGG!!!!
took a short drive today....and guess what I found along the road....YEP you guessed it...LOVE BUGS....or F**K bugs as some call them....just one swarm...but that was enough.....when we got to our destination it took me about 30 minutes just to clean off the front bumper, the edge of the hood and the windshield...
I swear their guts are superglue!!!!
