Mitsubishi lancer ralliart...pretty sexy.
Anyone check out that mitsubishi Lancer ralliart yet?
pretty sexy package if you ask me. The only thing i hold against it is the price new. i dont think it's worth the $20,000 but if you buy it used with about 9K on it, it drops about 5 grand, gotta love that mitsubishi resale value.
But anyways, From what i've read, it's a great car, fun, fast, reliable (with a 10year/100,000 mile warrenty!) and pretty comfortable.
what's everyone else's opinion on it?

Are you serious? 18k and the car doesn't even have the same hp as the 03 Pro. (120hp) Plus thats just a plain lancer.
If you like thats ok, I don't want you to think I'm attacking you. I'm more attacking the maker. I think the M3 is still the better car and not because I like Mazdas.

No you guys(and gals) are thinking about the OZ Rally Lancer. That is the one with rims. The Ralliart Lancer is a totally different car. http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMSA/M...&1105502010078 Its got 160hp MIEVEC engine. It also has got the same tranny as the EVO. I love this car. If it came out 2months before I bought my P5 I wouldnt be a member of this forum. It is a little pricey new but as my man said you can get a good deal on one used.

Overall i think the ralliart is more for a young kid (like myself), I'll leave the Mazda 3 to the older kid's / adults.

I like the Mitsubishi Ralliart. It's great for those who want an Evo, but can't swing another ten grand for the boost and AWD. Neat car, probably lots of fun to drive. Probably the closest thing to it in the market is a Nissan Sentra SE-R. And though the price may seem steep, Mitsu is wheeling and dealing very aggressively these days, to attempt to stem market share losses.
Truthfully, the only thing that would keep me from looking at Mitsubishi when buying a car is the fact that their sales have tanked, they are in bankruptcy protection, and despite billions of dollars in corporate aid from other Japanese companies, there is no clear evidence that this company is going to be around in five years. If they are not around, good luck getting parts or a decent residual value.
Mitsubishi is knocking on death's door. Corporate scandals in Japan (covering up safety defects) has cut sales well in half, and in the USA, things are scarcely better. A 0%, no payments for one year financing scheme that Mitsubishi tried two years ago backfired into a rash of loan defauls that hurt its USA financing arm, and it doesn't help that sales here in the USA are far off too, as most people do not know what the brand stands for. Experts say that not all auto companies are going to survive this decade, due to a highly competitive global market. If I had to vote on the one most likely to disappear first, Mitsubishi would be my educated guess.

My bad, I looked it up but it only showed the 120hp, guess it was just the plain car. I'm just not keen on the looks, but I do like the engine. I know it probably isn't funny to anyone els but I had to laugh looking at the parts list and saw the shift **** and hand brake are extra! Yea I know thats for an upgraded version.
But it would be funny to go test drive one, you sit in it look down and no ***** or handles, youd be like WTH!

I test drove a Ralliart 2 months after I bought my 03 MP5, and I am not going to lie I was pissed off. Not at the car but at the Mitsu dealership.
I knew this car was coming out almost 1yr before it hit the states. Me being a BIG Mitsu fan I went to the dealership (before I had my MP5) and asked the manager if they knew anything on the car. I got a big fat NO. In the situation I was in I needed a bigger car (due to son). The P5 was my second choice. So Mazda got my $$$. Two months later I saw a Ralliart siting on the Mitsu lot. So I pulled over to get a test drive. I was so impressed. The car sounded good, drove just as good as the P5, and had a better sound package. Just for ***** and Giggles I acted like I was going to buy the car. I and a brand new 03 MP5 with 500 miles on it and all they wanted to give me was 12k. F*** that.
I wont lie Mitsu as a company sucks the big one but I still love the cars.
