This is most likely a scam (eBay)
It's a shame, too, because those black opal Verdict 18s are gorgeous.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2407597122
Dead giveaways:
1.) Same photos
2.) Same exact product specifications, same wheel, same tires
3.) One of the accounts is brand new and has no feedback. The other has 2 for buyer auctions: PS2 and a mobile phone.
4.) There can't be that many people who misspell "substancially"
5.) On link #1, there is this quote: "I am also not responsible for any damages that may take place during the shipping process...Once you have won the bidding process, these rims & tires are officially your property. Center caps are included...happy bidding." Same quote on #2.
Hmm... should we do something?

For what it's worth, I sent this message to eBay Rules & Safety Support.
To whom it may concern:
I wasn't able to find the exact situation in the file system, so I apologize if this was miscategorized. Here is my issue:
I have reason to believe that there is an attempt to commit fraudulent behaviour. Comparing auctions 2918116650 and 2407597122, you will see some disturbing similarities. The items for sale have identical specifications. The same digital photos are used in both auctions. The majority of the text in the description is a direct copy. A few words are changed, but the bulk is the same (including the misspelling of "substancially," sic.) The auctions are being given by two different users with two different reported locations. One is "Opal Verdict" Canada, which is a reference to the model of wheel being sold, while the other is in the United States. Neither member has significant feedback history (IE, nothing to lose if negative feedback is incurred.) My concern is that both auctions are being given by the same person, who either intends to sell only one set and collect on both auctions, or send no sets and collect on both. Either way, it seems very suspicious when you consider how similar the wording is between the two auctions, the fact that the EXACT photos are shared between the two auctions.
Please look into this before it is too late, and money has already been sent. Thank you for your time, and I hope this helps.

I'm starting to doubt eBay's policies a bit.
There is this seller "4cellular.com" I think. Well, what he does is start many of his auctions at one cent, with no reserve price. Then he puts a "disclaimer" in the auction, stating that they "reserve the right to cancel all bids and end this auction if the bidding does not reach their wholesale price".
This is a CLEAR case of eBay fee avoidance, because this guy is required to use a reserve price. In fact, this exact situation is listed in eBay's policies as a no-no.
I emailed eBay about this, after having my bids cancelled and the auction ended on an item I was winning. They informed me that they investigated the matter, and while they can't divulge the exact nature of what they did to the seller, they assured me they took care of the problem.
But the guy is still doing the same thing - here is his auctions list - ALL of those one cent auction have no reserve, and the disclaimer: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...wpics=1&stab=0
So what the hell DID eBay do, anyway? This guy is being quite unfair to eBay and to bidders. I'm thinking about complaining again.
