Mtx Rfl

I was looking through the new Maxim magazine, and they had a MTX "RFL" 15" sub featured...

Retail price: $1000
Max Watt: 4000 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Weight: 56lbs (or 52, I forget)

The RFL stands for Really ******* Loud. Literally.

That is one CRAAAAAAAAAAZY sub!

That's not too uncommon. This sub also handles 1000 watts RMS per voice coil, and it is a QUAD coil sub. 450 ounces (28 lbs) just for a magnet is pretty big too, I have no idea what the whole thing weights.
I've seen some cavalier on sounddomain.com run 1200 watts RMS into each coil and he had two subs!! He had eight 1200 watt RMS amps. Something like 172 db!

powerful sub

I don't know much about car audio, but that makes my ears want to bleed just thinking about it!
