NBA Thread #3

Yup, well MY Sacramento Kings are kicking @ss once again this season, led by C-Webb and the two Yugoslavian sensations.

I'm happy that the Grizzlies are doing bad once again after leaving Vancouver on a sour note. Hope that they NEVER make the playoffs

The players that I did like are doing well. Damon Jones in Detroit is playing an important role as a backup. Oh and they got Zeljko Rebraca, another Yugoslavian playing, so they're my team from the East.

Bibby's doing well in Sac-town....

I love this game!!!

yup yup. too many stars. if they want a ring, they need to dump some stars and get good role-players (ie; d. george, medvedenko, dumb@ss fisher, horry, fox...)

champions in the last decade have been centered around 2 stars and the rest rp's.
-jordan/pippen
-shaq/kobe
-the dream/drexler
-duncan/robinson

no more than 2 "go to" guys. that's the winning combo. you can have 1 and a bunch of good rp's, but that's rare (bad boys).

Hehe, I felt bad for Tim Floyd back when he was with the bulls. You know what though, I respect Bulls fans that are still their fans today. Some of my friends that used to be hardcore Bulls fans are turning to Sacramento and other teams now. Go and stick to your original team you band-wagon-hoppers!!!

PS. I hate the Blazers!!! Especially Bonzi Wells, that little bugger....

Hope the Raptors make it to the post-season, it's going to be close since Indiana is choking

T-Mac's the fifth best player in the league I feel... But Magic's going nowhere since they got rid of Outlaw and Wallace

gotta love them bulls. krauss has gotta have some side bet going on, "betcha' $5,000,000 i can f#ck this team up and still keep my job."...dumps jackson (consequently jordan/rodman/pippen)
krauss: "ha ha ha, now double or nothing i can f#ck it up again"...trades brand for two kids who now average 20min/game combined.
krauss: "ha ha ha ha ha...now pay up, fool."

memphis blows hard.
chicago likes it that way.

hope the kings de-throne the lake-show.

bo- in defense of the bulls fans, they loved the players, and since they're gone...oh well! on to the kings!

but i gotta disagree w/5th best. no one, save iverson can carry their teams by themselves. almighty jordan leads the team thru sheer legend. kobe blows goats. shaq? diareahha and he's out 4-6 wks. cwebb has a great cast. vince really isn't getting it done right now. i'd have to put tmac in the top3 at the very least, if not #2 behind iverson. mind you, i am rating them based on what they do for their teams with their supporting cast and playoff expectency.

but damn i like that steve nash! whohoo! oh canada!

Haha, yeah, Steve Nash's a good one, so much energy...

This is why I said fifth best player, actually estimating at first....

To me, you can't really distinguish these guys on who's better except for Shaq

1. Shaq

then tied for second

Jason Kidd
Tracy McGrady
Kevin Garnett
Kobe Bryant

Shaq can dominate, and is unstoppable. You can't stop an agile 350 pounder.

Jason Kidd makes everybody else better and is clutch (funny never used that term in this context on this board before hehe)

Tracy McGrady plays wicked defense, and can be unstoppable sometimes when he's in the groove

Kevin Garnet... see above

Kobe Bryant, even though he doesn't have to carry the team by himself, he still plays as good defense as T-Mac, and is as good offensively. I like his three-point shot better then T-Mac's though, but he's a couple of inches shorter. Overall, those two are exact same to me

Allen Iverson doesn't play D well enough. Sure he gets steals, but doesn't play good man to man D to force bad shots/turnovers.

a man with hoop knowledge!

BUT, shaq can be stopped. his stupid injuries are pathetic, as are the healing times. the league may slow him down, but his attitude/heart is his achilles heel, a la d. coleman. for shame. and dammit, why the hell does he cry so much??? frickin' 350lb, 7ft monster is crying about hacks? what does he think he's doing with those 90lb each elbows? if he could hit it from the charity stripe i guarantee you he wouldn't cry so much.

and i agree with your 2nd place ties. altho you have to put the answer in that group based on the fact that for 6'1", and the only real scorer/go to guy on the team, he is bad@ss. he may heave 60shots/game, but he'll get you 30pts/night.

shaq would be #1 if he had heart. but he is just a beast that no one can stop. so iverson trumps him.

depending on matchups in the east, the lakers may not make the finals. LOL, did i say lakers? i meant da bulls.

so people, who gets the ring in 2002?

NJ NETS will win it in 2002. As long as K. Martin doesn't get any flagrants then they will win. But I must say that Allen Iverson is definitely in the top 5 in the NBA and the 76ers are the best team in the NBA as long as Iverson plays. I think there are only a few people that can totally turn a team around, and they are Shaq, Jason Kidd, and Allen Iverson. I don't think any other player can turn a losing team into a championship team. Thats my opinion and I am sticking to it.

Sorry bra, but the celtics are going to take over 1st in the East soon, just wait... actualy not really, but they're my team. I have to admit tho, w/ march madness i havent really been keeping up on the NBA as much as i should, but AI is definately at the same level as your top ten players. But injury is an issue w/ him, just like shaq... and tmac... and jordan... why is everyone good getting injured!

A bit hard to call with all the injuries I think. Kings maybe? LA always have strong playoff heart, Portland would be nice but I doubt it, 76ers good chance. Nets??

i'd like to see the mavs or kings come out of the west and wouldn't mind orlando (woohoo! but not gonna happen) and nj (love kidd).

it's so hard to say cause the west is so strong, but i hope the east will make it intresting at least...
