New Car Blues.

So I'm kinda feeling wierd about the new car. After 3 years in the Air Force so far I finally managed to get a brand new car. I am the first person in my family (except the uncles who we avoid) to ever buy a brand new car. Im happy for my success. But now whenever I call my family it seems that they are not happy for me. In fact they try to pick out the wrongs of the whole thing. Japanese car, color, price, etc. So am I wrong to be pissed at them? Anyone else get the same treatment.

You work hard for your cash (geez in the AF your risk your life!); you should spend it on something you enjoy! Dont let the jealous losers bring you down...

It is not odd to own a new car. You are completely normal. Enjoy it, and don't let your family bother you about it.

Besides, 4 years from now when you're ready to get another new car, they'll be waiting in line to buy it from you

I wouldn't sell a car to anyone I knew. They'd all come back at me when it breaks down. I agree that I shouldn't let it bother me but I kinda feel like I am showing off. I can't wait to get back home and have everyone see this yellow car with racing stripes down the side. Talk about showing off.

Oh and blades Im in the Air Force. Theres no risk taking here. Haven't you heard. We all have desk jobs. My biggest fear is passing out of boredom. Why do you think I hang out on this forum all time? Im at work right now.

I didn't get that treatment from my family, but I most certainly got it from my "best friend", who isn't anymore btw...
My man has been in the AF 3 years as well, and bless his soul, he bought me a brand new car, when even he has never had a brand new car... (He drives a 98 vw gti vr6, 1 owner before him) but all that stupid hussy could do was b*tch about it...
Jealousy and Stupidity... that's all that is...

I thought the AF had those dangerous flying machines? Oh well, I guess they only crash at airshows... I know what you mean about the boredom thing, im an IT contractor, I help a guy reboot his computer and surf the net for the rest of the day on a DS3 connection...

Yep IT sucks. I do trouble shooting for our long haul comm. My job entails me calling someone else for everything. Im probably the guy calling you to reset something. I get a call maybe twice a week. All other times Im either trying to skate out of work or surfing the web. I'm actually kinda jealous of all the people back home. I think most of the family works construction. They have the enjoyment of seeing a finished product at the end of the day.
