Nintendo Gamecube!
hmm, this might borderline another topic (car electronics), but i still need to ask. anyone own or exp the gamecube? the only game i have been able to sample is the mario brother one, and it's okay. but the price dropped to $150 and it seems like a good deal. i wanna add that to my system so i can play games when i'm waiting at the bball courts... i thought about the xbox, but it's too big and would have to be a trunk mount. the gamecube seems to be the right choice size-wise, but i haven't been able to play it and not many ppl talk about it. any thoughts on this?

I think for the money you should still go with the XBOX...there are just that many more quality games for it (and by that I mean games that aren't just geared towards kids)...IMHO the gamecube is going end up like the dreamcast did...To each his own I guess...but from an investment standpoint the XBOX is the way to go. Either way good luck.

GameCube is very nice graphics and speed wise, but there are not enough games out there. I just recently heard there were more games that just came out, but PS2 and XBOX have tons more games. I would go with PS2, rather then XBOX.

xbox is going under. it sucks. overpriced, too many gadgets, HORRIBLE controllers. i really dont see the push in it. they also won't be able to compete with the price drops on gc and ps2. they dropped their price, only becuase they have to try and compete. i know 1 person with an xbox, they bought a ps2 that they play more. i have 6 friends with the gamecube, 2 with ps2. all of them love these.
i have a gamecube, i got it 2 weeks ago and i love it. the resident evil is awesome, tony hawk 3 rules (asusual), bond, nba street, and check out the list of games coming out in the next six months. i can't wait for this rally game i was reading about to be released. i also bought mine for the small size for a car install later this summer, but im having a blast playing it now! i think my girlfriend is really getting jealous.

See I used to be so Pro PS2...But then not even a month after the warranty expired it stopped playing all games that were on a purple disk...(not to mention...Everyone I work with is having problems with their PS2) and Sony wanted to charge me $130 bucks to fix it. I was like F Sony. So I traded in my PS2 and Got the Xbox...I still feel it is a superior system. I do agree though the controller sucks, but MS just release the Japanese XBOX controller(which is a lot better). As for games, Xbox has like 200(I think) games that were just announced. MS had already decided on a price drop they were waiting till E3 to announce it, but sony beat them to the drop. Over priced? What are you talking about?

i beg to differ, i love my Xbox, the controller is the best controller ive ever used, and ive owned basically every system to date, my best friend owns gamecube and the controller feels like its onna fall apart everytime i touch it, right now xbox is priced the same as PS2, both are at 199, yes gamecube is 50 bucks cheaper but the problem is in a year or so gamecube will necver be able to catch up to both Xbox and PS2. The simple fact is that Xbox and PS2 are both DVD based and can hold 5X the data a gamecube can, i seriously love my xbox, the games are amazing, and its just more fun then anyother system, plus u say that its going under, its got microsoft behind it, microsoft may be the definition of evil itself but its still one of the biggest corporations around, and they wont let it fail. Xbos is definetly the way to go

Me & the wife had both the Gamecube & Xbox systems for sale on Ebay around Xmas time..so we had the chance to try both of them out. The Gamecube requires you to buy memory to save games & its games are targeted for a much younger group of people then the Xbox system. The Xbox system uses the hard drive to map the background in high res. unlike any other system on the market now. The Xbox also has had some problems with over heating because of low air flow conditions & repairing it costs as much as a new system.

Gamecube's got lots of good games coming out soon.
controller's wise, Xbox is too big to be comfortable, and Gamecube's perfect....
as for number of buttons, who cares, it's not like you use more then three in most of the games that you play, GTA3 excluded....
my pick's PS2 first, Gamecube a close second and then Xbox......
just personal thing though

okay, so the ps2 isn't getting too much props here. the xbox seems to be the better "adult-oriented" gaming system. gamecube has a brighter future (i love metroid, zelda etc.) but i am still thinking about space issues. the xbox will have to be a hatch mount, forcing me to build a rack or possibly sub floors. the gc would fit perfectly in the middle of my back seat, alongside my dvd player. damn i hate these decisions...
playstation2: unreliable, everyone and their neighbor has it, but it has the baddest group game (bomberman world)
xbox: big and bulky, uncomfortable controller, hatch moount, but better games/speed.
gamecube: small game library, goofy controller, but good compact size, decent future, $150...

Metroid is gonna rock.. I will buy the systems when that is released and not until. Nintendo was supposed to release this title for the 64 and decided no to and to start prepping for the cube, now lets see if they actually put it out this time.

ps2 all the way. Plus you can play dvd on it. And they have the most games out. Controller is the best by far, not too much on it but enough to play the games.
