One Trashed Ass RSX!

I would have called the cops, and reported the car stolen and returned. No kidding. Sounds like there were a number of witnesses. And while this "friend" was stealing the car, what were all the other "friends" doing...just watching? Nice group.
BTW, Jap is sort of a racial slur. You might want to reconsider using it in PUBLIC in the future.

I agree with the stealing the car bit being brutal. However I did smash my buddies '77 vette while drunk... he walked up to it sitting in the ditch, picked up a piece of the rear quarter panel and said" oh man you scratched my paint". (he had just painted it 2 weeks earlier)
I paid to have it completly fixed but I never forgot that the first thing he said was " Are you okay?".
He gave me the keys to drive it so i didn't steal it. Howver I do know my true friends are a lot more important then my car... As much as I love it.
Ready to recieve justly desevered flames for drinking and driving. Luckly it was on a gravel road out in the woods. BTW '77 vettes do not like having the gas stomped on coming out of a corner on a gravel road.

1977 vettes were pieces of crap anyways...god they were slow underpowered and heavy.....good job on taking that gas hog off the road HE HE.
It's one thing to have your friend give you the keys, like we all know the guy stole it. So in that case he is no one's friend...he's a darn theif.
LMAO damn jason that sig is Kickin!!

But he gave you the keys...I am not justifying drinking and driving , but the other individual took the keys from the owner when he was not coherent. If the other owner was still awake and handed his friend the keys...it is a different matter....but the guy did not do that...his supposed friend stole the keys...destroyed the car and tried to pass it up as not being his fault for 2 days...what kind of friend would do that...none of mine would...and the individual of the RSX should treat it as such.
What other things in the future will that so called friend destroy...

Update!
Well, I was over at my buddy's house last night, and talked to him about your guys' suggestion about legal action. Although the guy that jacked it is no longer even in contact with my buddy, he is being made to pay for a new transmission, as well as a new front suspension link or something. (After it blew, he pulled over a little too fast.) The engine in the car now is basically all new aside from the block. The transmission should be installed once it arrives from Japan (sorry about the "jap" comment earlier, didn't know it was racist in any way ) and the bumper has already been fixed.
I questioned him on a completely new car, and he said that Acura wouldn't do that. They only wanted to replace the engine and tranny since the car was so new.
If its any consolation, the car is actually in great shape now. Acura did a really good job in swapping everything in. It's not "bo-jacked" together like some others I've heard about. True, the car will never be exactly the same, but when the tranny is replaced, it should be as good as (even better?) than new!

Make sure that all of this is documented. Considering that the other individual is making payments. A letter stating what has happened should be created and signed.
If the other person is paying via check...copies of the check should be kept and filed. If the car needs additional work in the future, and it is due to the abuse from the other individual, this will help in court if the other individual does not want to reimburse for the corrective repair of the vehicle.
