Thumbs up Operation Overlord

Today is June 6. This date makes me happy yet sad. We landed on France's Normandy Coast. Invading Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword beaches. The US was there, the Brits were there, and our friends to the North Canada were there too! I'm saying Thank You to the men and women of the armed forces that looked death in the face that day (and today), roll up their sleeves, and get in there and fight for our freedom! We have some vets and current military men and women on this board and I just want to say Thank You for my freedom!!

It's nice to know that someone out there besides myself remembers this. Sometimes I feel like most young people have forgotten about it. Both of my grandparents on my father's side served in the war (my grandfather was a Navy fighter pilot, and my grandmother was a WAVE) and I will always be grateful for the men and women who fought to keep the world free.

[EDIT: One "bt" doesn't quite seem to do it.]

Grandfather fought on my dad's side. Army Air Corps on the Pacific Front. Sad so many people died today, but it was for a noble cause. Would have been worse had Hitler actually figured out what we were doing.

My dad served in WWII....wasn't at normandy...but was in North Africa, Italy, and in France......I too am a vet.....

and very honestly....it feels pretty good that there ARE people that remember and would honor those that have served, even here on this board.

Where ever there is a flag that flies.....there is freedom....

Everytime and I mean EVERYTIME I hear our national anthem....I get goose bumps.....

I was and am very proud I served...and would do it again in a heart beat.....for me.....and for YOU.
