Pop-up ads are killing me...
Recently they started to pop-up about every 5 minutes. From legit companies like expedia.com and chase and others. I use att cable modem, have never had a problem until this. Does anyone know what can I do to resolve this?

Or even better.
Get Mozilla. It has a built-in pop-up killer. Internet Keywords, the best HTML rendering engine, sick skins, HTTP Pipelining, image(ad) blocking, a bunch of other useful stuff, and last but not least, TABS!
Check it out.

I have been having the same problem. I have had DSL for a couple of years now, never had a real problem with pop up ads. Now all of the sudden (past month) I can't get rid of them. As of yesterday, I am getting **** ads (not that I mind, but my girlfriend might question what I am doing on my machine) I think some new technology must have come out that embeds something into your machine. I have deleted all cookies and I still get pop ups, even on websites that I know don't use them ( I just got a pop up that tried to install something in my machine as I am writing this). Sometimes they just stay open and then crash my machine
I have tried the pop up stopper, that did not work, still got them. It also made it a pain in the **** to look at websites that had anything that opened in another window. It also had a conflict that would not allow me to print anything.
Anybody have any suggestions how to get rid of them? I am going to get a firewall.

"popup stopper" from "Panicware" is excellent. It will stop ALL popups, and if you need a popup window from a legitimate site, all you have to do is hold the CTRL key while clicking on the link. I found it much easier to use than popupkiller.
