Scion cars
Anyone out there like these new Scion (Toyota) cars?
Edmunds.com just posted some more info on them. I dont like the styling, especially the rolling lunchbox SUV, but damn that's a good price. I do like the Element though. Nice size and useful, but I think it's going to be another fad car like the PT Cruiser.

I personally don't car for them but my boyfriend loves the BBx, I know they are big cars over in Japan and they make all sorts of after market parts for them already. I don't think they will be a fad. For the price and all the after market parts they make for them I'm sure a lot of the younger generation people will like them. I think that's who they are targeting more than anything.

Scion is Toyota. They're tying to make cars that appeal to younger crowds.
Maybe my opinion will change when I see one in person. I didnt like the Element from photos, but once I rode in one I liked it. That price is great though, $13,000 for a reliable car. Good thing about the aftermarket parts too, it's only got 100hp.

that is the point I was trying to get to... toyota wants to improve their brand image to young people, but they decided to waste money and make a new name... kids will buy scion and then say "it's not a toyota" (lexus diehards anyone?) and probably won't ever buy a toyota when they become old farts

I think those scions rank right up there with the Aztec (as a matter of fact, all pontiac cars) and I am sorry but the element? Come on, its not only a rolling lunchbox but it is all plastic. What a POS.

That's the part of the Element I didnt like, the plastic everything. But other than that I thought it was nice. Lots of usable space. I'm sure I'd get tired of it though. Besides, the only thing my P5 cant do that an SUV can is go off road (heck, alot of SUVs cant even do that.)
