I shake my head at people who wear it 'because they have to'

Thats crap. I've known too many people that have been saved by seatbelts to ever consider not wearing my belt.. even for a second.

Sure the seatbelt injures them.. but i'd rather have a bruise across my chest, than reconstructive surgery to rebuild my face.

To say that the seatbelt caused more damage than the impact is just plain stupidity. If the amount of force was enough that the seatbelt injured you, then you can bet that your head hitting solid plastic, or worse glass, would be injuring you a helluva lot more if you weren't wearing one.

Tito is absolutely correct.. how the hell would you know that you wouldn't have been injured more if you weren't wearing your seatbelt? Do you REALLY want to take that chance?

I've grown up with wearing a seat belt and it's second nature to me.. Before any laws, and before it took someone else to get in an accident to make me start wearing one.

It's because of the convenience factor we get the retarded 3pt harness and not something much better. Part of my plans for my car include replacing my seats with ones better suited for a 4 point harness.. better for safety, better for racing..

Buckle up.. it takes one second and could save your life.

crap, i almost plowed into the back of an suv on the highway today. bastard. but as i was working my brakes, i could only see the accident i was in (i was the passenger) back in march. my heart dropped into my pants. i didn't touch the suv in front of me, but i was damn close. we were both wearing our belts today. and the guy with me was the guy driving in march. hehe, we were breathing hard...

yes, seat belts are my friends. as are air-bags.

Heh.. when I was young I used to hate seatbelts.. I had the "why do we have to put them on when they hurt and are a hassle" mentality. Needless to say that stance was shattered when I was in a car accident with my bro behind wheel. Some dumb-*** in an old Toyota truck (the ones that are raised and have those huge *** tires) hit our Volvo. I was sitting in the front seat and flew forward... hit the windshield with my forehead, dash with the chin and back at the seat. Not a scratch on me though. Ever since then I've been so **** about seatbelt wearing, and for some odd reason.. I think it's a reflex, but I get to livid when peope don't wear them...

Anywaize... moral of this all...

If you got some extra.. eh.. some... if you got extra cash to spare after modding your Pro, buy a Volvo... I know some of them are damn ugly but they are hella safe for what it's worth...

I always wear my seatbelt because i totalled my first truck. The cops at the scene said that the truck would probably have landed on me if I didn't have it on. Funny thing is the truck and cd player were still running as I was hanging upside down. The only bad thing about the seatbelt that saved my life is, it wouldn't release with my weight pushing down on it.good thing i was thin enough (125 pounds) to slide out from under it.
