The second car thread... AGAIN
So, some of you know i have been in the market to buy a second car, I have looked at RX-7s (ooh i want), older supras, eclipses, talons, sentras, 240sx, maximas, probes..... the list goes on and on...
I finally decided i just wanted a fast, 2door, 5 speed car for a resonable price. Thats all i want, just because i got too specific and couldnt get what i want.
So i have been driving my friends 90 eclipse alot on weekends, just for fun (he goes to his dads on weekends and doesnt use his car, and i have my own key).... and really enjoy that car even if it isnt really nice, and that its a GS.
so after a little looking i finally think i may, MAY, have found a car that i will get. Its red too!
1990 Eagle Talon TSi
2.0liter DOHC
Turbo
5 speed tranny
AWD
Fully loaded (every option)
$2100
but the kicker 140k miles.... but it has a new clutch and the whole engine has been rebuilt in the last 6000 miles.
but i figure, for a racer/school car, this car should hold up.... if not i still have my p5..... and hell, the engine blows up on this talon, ill just drop a grand and get a new one
so what are you guy's thoughts?

For $2100 or even bit less I would think that to be one hell of a deal. I just sold my '90 beretta 6 months ago for $4500 (mind you cdn) but the tranny wan nearly mashed in it and one piston stop was gone.
Nuttin to lose.

i bought a '93 last year very similar and the price seemed too good to be tru also...it was...it started blowing oil and the engine was phuk'd...ask the guy if he minds if you take it to a mechanic and get the compression checked...if its good then your pistons, rings and cylinder walls should still be good...if its ok then go for it...a turbo awd eclipse or talon is an a$$ kicker...dont even TRY and mess with one in the rain, they'll tear you a new one!!!

screw taking it to a mechanic (no i dont mean that really, mechanics are good)..... but i can check the compression and such myself.... i have the know how and everything i need....
