Slamboree 2005

2nd place Compact Car Mild Class in Slamboree 2005...last year I got first, but this year there were more cars to compete against!

I was going to have my graphics on for this show, but the money disappeared. At least I got my ching pao done! I also showed without the yellow center caps on this year and it didn't seem to matter. In fact, I think it matched better with the wheels & the hood graphic

That's my scooter with the Key West stickers on it. I got "busted" by the po-po for riding "illegally" in the parking lot

Great job Karen. I need to get some dedicated show rims too someday... I'd love to see our cars side-by-side. When you got your interior re-done, are they seat covers or are the seats completely re apholstered(sp?)? If you don't mind me asking... How much did that run you. I'm preparing myself to finally finish my car (aka dress the engine and interior) and need to see how much to budget. Also, the place you got it done, I wonder if they'd make the seat covers and ship them to me to get installed. Anyhoo, congrats once again and keep up the Protege dominance!

They are Katzkin leather. Katzkin makes "kits" for just about every make and model. You can pick and choose your style & colors & whatnot. I would guess $1k or more for a complete set front and back depending on the type of leather...maybe more if you want the matching accents like door panels, dash panel, shift boot, and armrest cover like I have. You might check www.katzkin.com and see if they have any dealers or installers in your area or log on to www.autoleathers.com to purchase the kits via the web. I have my "deals" worked out through my local shop...you know the Vinyl Top Specialists logo I run on my car!!!

2nd place, Compact Car Mild class, Slamboree 2005. It's a big 2-day show that they have every year down in Norman, OK and it is put on by Pleasures Trucks & Compacts www.pleasuresonline.com

Actually, the Hondas have their own class (thank god) and there were so many Scions that they had their own class as well. I got beat by a really clean Nissan 180 (?) racecar. I didn't even know it was in my class! In this show, it seemed like clean & uncluttered was valued over those over-done train-wreck looking cars...you know the ones with too much crap everywhere and no "theme" to speak of.

Phil-that pic was from Sunday when I had my hood down (already judged on Saturday) so my display was different. The Saturday pics show the monkey sticker on the bumper better. I also put a monkey on my driver's side back window because I had an "empty" space to fill. The pics are on my lappy at home so I'll put some more up when I get home from work.

Cool...I've been looking into a new set-up vinyl-wise....don't know if you noticed, but I took off the TEIN decal off the rear window and replaced it w/the Tein "guy" or whatever the hell that thing is....still have to get my "Soccer Moms Dig it" on the rear glass too....hee hee.

Hahahah. That guy is in my club...but the Tulsa chapter, not OKC. He said he got his body kit shipped from Australia or something. I still don't like body kits.
