Something I just noticed

I work in an office small ~ medium sized office complex, and just realized that there are three P5's in the parking lot every day (one of which is mine of course). And I also pass a yellow P5 on my way to work everyday.

I convinced two of my three closest friends back home to buy Proteges.. a blue MP3 and a blue MSP. Then, a mutual friend of the two of them (ex boyfriend of MP3 girl, co-worker of MSP dude) bought a black P5

For a town of 6000 people I'd say that's some really good Protege market penetration

I guess it helps that the largest Mazda dealer around is the only car dealership in town (none of us bought our Proteges from them though --they're dicks)

here in Rochester I rarely see Proteges at all. Once when I was turning into my street a silver, lowered, tinted P5 drove by.. I was in shock, and haven't managed to track the car down to tag them with a business card to come to this site :P

sumo bob: you should park next to one of them and see if the third goes along with it

No, it's stock, as are the other two that are in the complex's lot.

Kansei: I parked next to the 02, but the other 03 is on the other side of the lot. I guess it's anti-social.

It's probably an 02.5, not an 03, and the owner knows that 02.5 is the best partial model year ever and doesn't want to park near you guys :P

^ You sure it's 03? They look exactly the same .. no differences between 02.5 and 03 so you never know..

There's a big difference between 02.5 and 03.. 03 had the loose screw blows your engine recall LOL

The screws come loose in 2002.0 - 2003.5 models.. they just only recalled a certain VIN range (which I believe is mostly 2003.0 but extends into the 2003.5 roofrack-less models)

I thought it was 03+ only in certain VIN ranges, but whatever. The original statement still stands .. no difference between 02.5 & 03 P5s

Plenty of people outside the recall range had screws come loose and ruin their lives.

2003.0 saw the introduction of Laser Blue as well as fake CF trim around the window switches (canadian models only.. yeah it's way ugly, don't know why they thought it was a good idea)

You sure about that man? I thought ALL P5's had the fake CF trim.
