Still here, she didn't get me!!!!!
Well Claudette didn't get me!!! as far as I know I don't think we have any other members that were as close as I was to the bitch....for those of you that don't watch the news that much Claudette was the hurricane that just hit the gulf coast of Texas. She came in about 20 miles south of where I live....I live 20 miles from the coastline too....and we were on the northside of the storm...which is the worst side as far as winds/rain/tornados...the works. We were actually very lucky...she wasn't near as strong of a storm as I have seen before.....we only had 88 mph winds here...and we managed to miss out on the worst of the rain. We only got 6 inches in the 12 hours period that the storm was at its worst. I only lose power here at the house for about 12 hours...and water for about 24.....Last night we went to town and stayed in a hotel so that we had hot showers/air conditioning, and TV.....sitting in a dead quiet/dark/hot house with kids is a nightmare!!!! lol I didn't get any damage to my place either...just a lot of small tree limbs and leaves all over the front yard...nothing more. I just hope we don't get a BAD one this year.

Glad to hear your allright Nuke. I have seen the aftermath of quite a few tornadoes growing up in the middle of Nebraska, and they can do some weird stuff. One hit my hometown on May 13, 1990. It was an F4!! When we were cleaning up, I found a 2x6 from the local lumber yard with a piece of straw shot throught it like an arrow. Also, they found the scoreboard from the local football field 12 miles away. Pretty scary, but you get used to it.

I just heard from some friends in Goliad and their power and phone has been out since it hit. I think it is back on now. Not too bad of a storm but it still did a lot of damage. Seems like the Texas coast has been being hit a lot more lately as well.
