Well as I pointed out, it's the attitude of Civic drivers that I was poking fun at, not the car so much. And yes, if it were a car of any other make, I would have still posted it. The tunnel vision mentality is a matter of perception, especially if you think I am saying "Honda Sucks." I think the text of my previous post was clear when I attempted to draw your attention to the typical import scene Civic driver. Just like in Auto-x, it's more about the driver than the car.

And IFatES, don't take it so personally. It's not an attact on you, UNLESS your that cocky, I'm the **** civic driver that thinks they can rev on anyone. At least you have an openess to models other than the Hondas, so you can't be that bad right?

See, I think I side with MikeD on this issue. The Hondas are great reliable cars, but Honda drivers have a reputation for being either a) totally rude, or b) totally clueless.

I cannot begin to tell you how many times that my wife and I have been in the car and something has happened where the first thing out of either her or my mouth is "Oh... look at that... typical Honda driver."

Mind, we never bash on the car... it's just a stereotype.... like soccer moms in SUVs. Live with it.

MikeD is REALLY RIGHT...
No, nothing is neccessarily wrong with a Honda... driving one doesn't make you a ricer, and it doesn't make you a jerk either...
BUT truth be told.. it seems like almost (note: I said ALMOST) every guy/girl out here driving one looks down their noses at ANY OTHER CAR, unwilling to admit that the proteges can be fast, etc.
I for one think that picture is funny. It is. And I don't see it as a personal attack on Honda. Like someone said, if it was a protege I'd laugh just as hard. Honda's ARE admittedly one of the longest going cars (mileage wise) around, along with some of those Toyota trucks that have over 200,000 miles and are still running.
Yeah I've made a few comments about "those damn riced out civics" or "all these Honda owners", but as MikeD said, it's more an argument against their attitudes than it is an attack against the car itself.

DAMN MP3Angel!! Will you marry me ?!!! JK!!!I love a smart woman! I'm glad to see there are some people on this board that can understand what it is I am talking about. It's the ol sayin that your car is a reflection of your personality.

As much as everyone hates to admit it, there are always some truths to stereotypes. And as Brubeck alluded to, there are definitely some negative images that come to mind courtesy of the majority of Civic/Honda DRIVERS.

Dude I understand what you are talking about, its not a very challenging subject that requires much thought process, or a "smart" person. I just don't think you understand me, but I'm used to that, so its cool, whatever.

i've been looking at that picture and cracking up. it doesn't appear to be a photoshop job. the boat has damage, and if that was a photoshop job, they did a damn good job on it.
about the honda drivers thing, i agree with miked... it's not the cars, it's the drivers and their shitty attitudes towards anyone else who didn't jump on the honda bandwagon. i get revved on by stock civics while three cars deep in traffic at a red light. how retarded is that? i had a crx intervene(sp?) while i a jetta and i were flying down this one road, damn crx passes me (we were doin about 60mph) and brake checks me then starts talking **** to me for no reason. it's the attitude of these people, not their cars. i like honda, and i like what you can do with honda's. for the most part (i also agree, that not all honda drivers are like this) the drivers are just rude, or clueless, or a combination of the two with a little bit of retardedness thrown in the mix. ;]

Hey man. Don't tell us to "grow up" when you're still driving your "juggalo wagon".

I seriously hope you're joking. If so cool, if not eat a dick. Being a Juggalo brings higher state of mentality than most people can comprehend. I'm down with the clown till I'm dead in the ground.

Sweet then, I wouldn't have it any other way. Its fine with me to be misunderstood. I accept the fact that I probably don't think or look at things like most people. Its all good fleetwood.

Just a little story going on these days. This fool (my friend) wants to trade in his Talon for a new car. he doesn't know ANYTHING about cars, and always gets ripped off when buying them. This girl that's playing him, she told him that she likes Acuras/Hondas. Now being a fool that he is, he's going to trade in his Talon for one and pay the difference. He's telling me how cool it will be.

He's paying 9000$ for a '94 with over 200,000 kms on it!!!

When he gets it, he'll brag about it for a while until something goes wrong with it. Oh yeah, it's an automatic too, but he'll try and race me with it.

Point being that while Acura/Honda are great cars, everything about them is overrated.
And most of the drivers that don't know much about cars, and don't care about cars will get one, simply because of 'what they heard'.

1fates, we all know that not all Civic drivers are like this obviously. Hell, if it was 2000 and I was getting a new car, I would be driving a Civic right now. My parents only agreed to help pay for part of the car if it was brand new, and I absolutely hated the 2001 Civic design and everything about it.

Nope... maybe real, but it's definately been photoshopped none-the-less. If you save the pic to disk, and then open it in Photoshop it's easy to spot. Open that sucker up and zoom to 400 then 800%.

There is most definately a white halo around the geeky woman in front.

There are also white specs around the driver's side front tire, indicating the background it was cut from is lighter than the boat.

The shadow of the boat in the water has definately been screwed with. At the back of the boat, the shadow is completely black... as you progress towards the boat, you will see that the shadow is suddenly lighter... you can tell it's a touch up because at one point, there is a little black to the left and right. Who-ever did this, obviously left that smudge on the bottom of the doorwell.

Look at the shadow of the geeky woman in front, then look at the shadow under the front of the car behind the guy in the red shorts... they most certainly do not match.

The patch of water that appears in the rear window of the civic is lighter than any other piece of water in the picture. Even with no tint at all, there would be some darkening through the window.

There is grass in the rearview, but where the geeky woman is standing is obviously cement (the angle is actually a little back from the woman, probably the camera man should be in the rearview.

Honestly, this picture has been screwed with so many times... the picture from the original link in this post has been cropped so that the people aren't there (you *can* see a little part of the geeky woman)... That picture does not have the red smudge over the front fender. The one that Protege Menace has posted has the red smudge and the text. If this is real, someone show me the original without the text and without being cropped.

I must admit that hondas are good cars, but I dont like civics because of its ricer popularity. But I am always drooling when I see a pearl white prelude,or an s2000,because they really kick ***.And they are beautifuly crafted machines. Those are admirable cars, and they ARE REALLY FAST,not like thos dx civics you see all riced up like that prius someone posted here.
