Vent Ppl Vent!!!!
I was parked at venice beach today at the street parking....
it was a really really really tight spot.... I left 10 inches infront of my car and the Jeep infront..... and left 3 inches behind my car and the MBenz S class behind me..... (cause the guy had space to backup to leave) and figuring that the guy with the expensive car won't want it to be jacked up he'll not jack up my car as well....
ok then I come back to get my car after a long day.... and the car behind me has changed to a saturn.... I inspect my rear bumper and FU*K!!!!! there is a scrape (about 0.75 inch, revealing the urethane inside) on it, about 1 foot from the left corner..... I was like huh??? how did that get there??? so I look at the guy behind me and I see his license plate is crooked with the top ends bent out.... then I inspect the corner of his plate and I rubbed a bit of my silver paint off it! damn was I pissed!
WHY CAN"T PPL LOOK OUT FOR OTHER PPLS CARS... I FEEL IT IS A BURDEN FOR ALL OF US WHO HAVE NEW CARS AND WANT TO KEEP IT LOOKING REALLY NICE..... BUT THEN OTHER DICKS COME AND DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOUR NICE CAR AND SCREW IT UP, THEN WE BECOME THE ONE SUFFERING......
I'm really seriously considering buying some orange road construction cones and putting them around my car! every day I goto my car I always have to inspect it to see if its been nicked by other cars.... I'm like so paranoid now..
I mean I don't have much driving experience... only about 0.75 years.... and I always park really carefully so I don't screw up my car other anyones cars.... so how can these other ppl maybe with more experience than me have no respect and skill to match their experience???
I think the administrator needs to open up a venting forum.... or I need to seek out the guy who screwed up my bumper and screw up his bonnet.

dude
well i have something similar
but not the same
my car was parked in a laundromat parking lot
where i work.
so i was helping a customer out and my car alarm goes off
so i take a quick look outside and it's some kid on a scooter. i can't go outside because i can't leave everything open, and need to help the customer out, so i just give the kid a bad stare. then after everything is done i go outside and it seems he fell and landed on my car.
THANKFULLY i didn't see any scratches
but IF i did... what could i do abouuut it??
i know the kid lives next door, his mom does the alundry all the time. but what am i expected to go to the mom and ask her for money to repair the car?
like hell, she'll be easy giving money away.
sooo you came back and the car that hit yours was still there? i would of made sure to get his license number and write a note. if the guy is an *** about paying for repairs, i'll jsut have to destroy hhis car
ooh well

I've already fixed 5 dings in my doors from inconsiderate ******** who can't open their ddoor without whacking my car - total cost so far $300.
And I have a new ding that happened sometime last week - gods only knows when or where. Another $75 down the drain. The Dent Wizard guys are starting to know me by name, and I'm considering putting them on speed dial.
I also got my rear bumper dinged up by a parking garage many months ago. I could clearly see that the license plate screws of the car behind me whacked my bumper - these morons backed my precious P5 into a Mercedes SUV. The ******* screws lined up perfectly with my nicks, and these ******** still tried to deny it ever happened. Well after 6 months of phone calls and threatened lawsuits - they paid me $325.
My P5 also got towed in Manhattan last year - I was illegally parked. But in towing it, they scraped up my wheel, the underside of the front bumper, and the underside of the side skirt - looks like the driver cut a corner too close while rear-towing my car, and the curb jumped up and bit my car down the passenger side, causing that damage. I also had a ding in the door *sigh* when I got it out of impound. After a relatively hassle-free claim was filed, I was paid about $700. Not bad.
The bumper and side skirt are barely visible, so ***** it - I'll leave it. The wheel - well, I want rims anyway, so who cares. The ding I got fixed. And my lady works at a body shop, so if I pull the bumpers off the car, I can get the rear fixed, and the front also (get rid of a years worth of stone chips and crap) for $250.
Get used to the damage. And definitely try to get whoever did it, and make an insurance claim against them. Not only will you get paid, but mayble they'll learn a friging lesson when their insurance rates go up $200 a year for a $150 payout.
But **** happens - almost nothing you can do to prevent it, short of not driving or parking anywhere.
