What's the worst car you've ever had?
#16
my 1st car.
81 chevy chevette 2 tone.
It had a hole in the drivers side floor board.
But that was a good thing since there was a leak
on the drivers side door panel which puddled under
your feet but was able to get out through the hole
in the floor.

I think that thing did 0-60 in 10 minutes.
although my 2nd car was an 81 volvo which I think was
even slower. which was good because it took a lot
longer to brake. A big metal box on wheels.

worst ride
I believe that had to be my first car and that my friends was a 1976 chevy vega and i got it back in1987, boy what a pile of crap no pick up, radiator leaked nothing but problems. My second would have to be the Saturn sc1 that's another turd 92 or 96 hp boy it was slow had to change the rubberbands 4 times and the lifters always stuck. My two cents.

its a toss up between my first and second car. first car was a 94 hyundai elantra that the motor blew up within 4 months. other than that it ran ok...second car was a 87 honda crx. got it for 700 and maybe spent 500 at the most keeping it running and 250 was for brakes. it was the hf model so only having 65hp was the worst part. id have to give the edge to my honda just cuz it is honda and lasted longer. hyundai is just a sh*tty car

I've got two - both Mopar minivans.
First was an 84 Dodge Caravan. Bought it from this guy for $800. I spent about $700 on various repairs - plugs, wires, distributor, tires, etc - before putting it on the road.
I drove it for 5 days, and was working about 75 miles from home. Well, the timing belt decided to take a **** on me. For those that don't know - these were "zero-clearance" engines (At least I'm pretty sure), which means if the timing belt takes a ****, the pistons whack the valves and you can kiss your engine goodbye. Cost me over $200 to have it towed home. Owned for exactly 7 days, then junked it - ******* piece of ****.
Second was a 1989 Plymouth Voyager. Bought used at a lot for $4k, and paid $1k for extended warranty - thank goodness. It went through 3 transmissions, then had a stalling problem where it would just shut the **** off for no reason and not start again (until it was at the shop, of course). Then the ******* van TOOK OFF on my wife (g/f at the time) when she was driving it once. 60 MPH on the highway, van just starts accelerating for no reason. She couldn't stop it. She had to stand on the brakes, get it down to about 30 mph, pull off into the grass and slam it into park to stop it. Good thing she thinks well on her feet, and had the sense to do that.
Bought for $5k (incl. warranty). Sold 8 months later for $800. ******* piece of possessed ****!

Although I love my car and it's fun to drive, and don't AT ALL regret buying a p5.. I've only had it for 8 months.. and already I know I'll probably need to dump thousands into it shortly after warrenty for a complete paint job.. (let alone anything else that goes wrong) so this one is going to be a financial pain in my *** as well I think

what about the great cars you grow up with? 80 something mercury zepher (SP) whose tranny leaked like a siv, and only had 35,000 miles on it before the engine siezed. 76? road runner, rusted tail end, magical hood that wouldn't open, 2 trannys and bi-monthly repair bills of $200+ for 1 year straight. 76 mustang (fastback i think) hail damage, shattered windshield, no seat belts, leaky fuel tank with broken floater (great for long trips where ya had to stop every 50 miles or so). brand new 90 ford tempo filed under lemon-law after 3 months, forget what for. and my buddy's 61 rambler (project car of mine and his) have to cut out the rusted floor pan and weld steel plates in there, crack in the dash straight down the center, 3 speed column shift tranny, great inline 6 with only 42,000 miles on it, body is in excellent condition except for rust on the under side and in drivers rear wheel well. getting a spanking white pearl paint job, new dash to install, custom sound system, and a whole bunch of engine stuff my buddy has an eye on (i'm not as much a gear head as he), but he's looking into a hurst or some **** 5 speed transmission with floor shift, engine is going to be fully pieced apart and cleaned up, new carburator, some other engine parts being replaced, should be a nice car. as far as my cars, i did own a 94 dodge neon for a day, finished most of the paper work, drove it off the lot and took it back the next day for a severe oil leak and ended up getting my pro .

88 dodge lebaron hardtop coupe. heavy, rode and handled like a truck, smelled funny and the whole car would flex in the corners. eventually it caught on fire. my least favorite car...
92' dodge colt (mitsu really) htchbk was the coolest car i ever had. hatch was great for paintballing, skiing, biking, camping, tubing, moving friends into apts... just about everything you could think of. the wheelbase was short so it was a total spinderella... rainy days in empty parking lots were fun fun fun. i drove that thing into the ground!! almost 100k of hard hard miles and great memories. the orig 100k was driven by a guy who did curtains for a living. i learned how to wrench on that car as well and fixed quite a few problems. cool thing was, fix it once and it was good. eventially it started to knock b/c of a lean mix. so i cleaned out the FI by dumping cleaner crap into the tank but too late. it dropped a valve and cracked the headers and demolished a plug.
86' toyota corolla coupe. flip up headlight, carberated... super cool car for a few hundered bucks. i got it running, inspected (after alot of body work and brake work) and set the timing to like 27deg before tdc... so obviously something was done to the car. i had big plans including an engine swap and a custom paint job planned.... but i forgot to check the oil and it ran it dry for a long time. i had a bad rod knock and no money so i had to get rid of it. alot of wrenching on this car... alot! probaly the "worst" car but i choose it b/c it was a project car.
current car is my 97' protege dx. it's reliable and fun to drive, but man, that dodge colt was awesome! i'd like a p5 someday! and another toyota corolla project car... maybe a nice 4wd 323? them ford rangers or hunduh elements are more my style however.
my folks have had WAY crappier cars than i have but they are in a league of their own...

There sure are a lot of Iaccoca-era Mopars in this list, aren't there? Guess I wasn't the only one.
