Question What's Your Mom Done For You Lately?

My Mom puts up with alot of ****. I'm lazy, I do nothing, I live here for free, she cooks for me, does my laundry, and helps me install stuff on my car. Hell, if I was her, I'd have made me do something!

When I think about it, she's really cool. How many Moms out there suggest springs and a carbon fiber hood?

So, I was just wondering how many of you ot there have Mom's that are into car stuff? Is it more your Dad and your Mom is always bitching "quit wasting time on that stupid car!" Or is your Mom down with what you do?

Wow, sounds like you have a great mom

I moved out about a year ago, so my mom doesn't have to do anything for me anymore. I try and do nice things for her every once in a while, she appreciates it

Luckily, my parents never really cared what I did with my money, it's nice to know that they trust you to make your own decisions, which is probably what helps me NOT spend money on stupid, frivolous things... Especially not having credit card debt! I guess they did something right

Do something nice for your mom, instead of spending $50 on your car, get her a gift certificate to a spa or something, she'd totally dig that!

My dad and I share a common bond for cars...if it weren't for him helping me out and covering my ***, I wouldn't have the same PR5 I have today. My mom on the other hand is like a Road Block. It's never good to even throw a cent into the car. Oh well.

My mom (and dad) are concerned about the wear and tear on my car. Modifying it is out of question. My dad is concerned about mileage (I average ~110 miles a day), and suggets rolling back the odometer so I could get <12500mi/yr or 7500mi/yr discounts (will never do that). Tough ****, though: it's my car, paid with all of my own money, my own insurance, their name nowhere near it.

I'm essentially "moved out" after college, so the only real nagging I get is that I'm spending too much money on the car. If it was their way, I'd be driving a used Ford Taurus for $3k or financing a new bare bones Hyundai Accent.

Overall though, they are glad that I got the car (my first car ever), and they promised to cover a monthly payment as a birthday present. So that's cool.

But, no, heh, my mom is not nearly as cool as yours (not that it matters anymore).

I agree with funkdaddysmack, do something nice for her. If she has her own car, and is enthusiastic about it, get her some car wash coupons or get the car a comprehensive wash/detailing job.

both my parents are road blocks, they 'used' to tell me what i should spend my money on, and they still do, they even try to tell me who i should and shouldn't hang out with, kinda pisses me off but i just hang out with who ever i want. i paid for 1/4 of their new Toyota Sienna and they are still on my back about meaningless crap. ahh i need to move out soon, they drive me nuts, its a good thing i work 2 jobs so i don't have to see them very often.

So have your parents blacklisted the CPC as well as Nick, Glen and myself as the people not to hang out with?

mom wears the pants in the family - she gets what she wants, and gets it 5 minutes ago - no BS.

i'm shopping for an RX-8 and Mazda dealers were dicking me around.

brought mom along, and she straightened 'em out GOOD.
heh.
