true!
Good article.I noticed that the protegé's tranny on the 1.8L version is really cool.It feels so good.I have to change gears more often than with my previous car,but the acceleration is more linear, especially after th2 firt gears...Thats how I feel about it... tell me if I'm wrong. But I won't give a s**t.

With your 16's, which are larger diameter than stock, you should be going faster than what your speedometer says. The 16's should be close to what the 14 Falkens were, and a little higher than the 15's.

Here you go...
This link has some math for you...You can figure out what speed you are actually traveling as compared to what your speedo says...
You need you gear ratios and some other sutff, but it's nice to know.

I was wondering some of this stuff with my car because of ride height, etc. with the 17" MP3 wheels...

All that works wonderfully if you have an accurate tach (mine reads about 4-5% high), know the actual diameter (or circumference) of your tires. And the math for the tires doesn't always work (a 185/60-14, which should be 22.74" tall, can be anywhere from 22.4 to 22.9 inches in diameter). Tire manufacturer specs aren't too bad, but not always perfect.

Go to www.tirerack.com. They have alot of information on the different brands/models of tires. This includes rotations/mile I believe. It's easy math to figure out the percentage your spedo will be off by these charts. There are some tire size calculators that use tire size on the sidewall but the overall diameter varies alot with different brand/models. I think the rotations/mile numbers are better.
