First off dude, no one is talking behind your back. No one here knew who the hell you were.

Regarding the weight of the car, 3600lbs is a frickin 1980 Chevy Caprice. I'm not sure since I don't have the exact numbers handy but it seems you are 1000lbs to heavy.

Whats funny about you running 12-13 second quarter miles?!?!? Dude, you would have to sink serious cash that I doubt you have. There is a guy with a 1999 Civic Si with 350 whp that is running 12's. Sure, he should be in the 11's but, like you will find, it's a BITCH to get 350 whp to hook up in a fwd car. It's a REAL BITCH to get a 3600-3700lb fwd car into the 12's

Now maybe you should rethink your goals. If you want a stellar handling car, great. That's obtainable.

12 second

maybe?

maybe your right about the 12-13 1/4 maybe that is alittle far off but a professional drag racer who is doing all my mods told me with a nx kit and a supercharger i would be in the 12-13's 1/4
i went out to my car and looked at the little sticker on the inside of driverside door the one that gives tir pressure and the cars weight according to that my car weighes 3644lbs

Did the local drag racer tell you ALL the other work you would need to do? It's not as simple as bolting on a supercharger. Is there one for the Protege? I know there are turbo kits but I'm not sure about a supercharger. If it were that simple, all MSP's would hit 12's by running 25-35 psi.

Re: lol your all soo cool

First welcome to the site. sorry it had to be because we're bashing your car. Next I think you're young 16 to 18 but closer to 16. so stick around this site and you will learn alot of car facts and some car B/S. As i quoted you the protege is NOT a full framed car. and if you care how a car handles or straight line performance the Weight matters

the details:

Gross Vehicle Weight Rating: the maximum loaded weight of a vehicle, including fuel, fluids, and full payload.

That means you load it to the gills with stuff (or a whole bunch of books) and it is the max. weight that the car can safely transport.

I have a 10,000lbs GVWR truck and I can tell you for a fact that the truck when empty does not weigh 10,000 pounds.

yes there is a supercharger kit for the protege if you guys werent bashing my ride i would have told you long ago the guy im dealing with which yes was a pro drag racer jom helsel owns a company called bullet customs..anyways you is very good friends with somebody on the product board for greddy well anyways greddy has agreed to make a supercharger for the 2.0ltr protege
only crapper out this is a this point in time the only personal that can get this is the guy jim if your intersted i can get you full facts asap also he makes a turbocharger for the protege with higher output then the f/m i think he said somewhere around 200-250 depending on what boost you have it setup on.. 16.17 is the fastest stock protege ive seen with a 75 shot of n20 stock it should send me in the high 14's..then supercharger would hopefully clear the 14's into the 13's yes im aware that its going to be a pretty penny i never said this is going to happen next week im hoping that i can atleast have the nos by may and the supercharger is coming next tax season!!

Gross Vehicle Weight is different than CURB WEIGHT. Curb weight is how much your car weighs. GVWR is the maximum recommended weight, car, passengers, luggage/whatever combined.

The car wont make 12's inless u have some serious money. the motor prob wont hold any more than 12 psi and will prob max at 230 hp. If u get that high the transmission will prob explode or the axiles will snap like toothpicks. Im not sure what aftermarket parts they sell for the engine u have but i havent seen any 3rd gen proteges get into the 13's let alone the 12's 2000 for nos is just stupid... i will install a nos kit for 1500 bucks if u want ...Jon
