Why I didn't go to college
Professor Kimberly Joy Hitchcock,
CEO of Hitchcock Architects:
....
Formerly Dr. Richard Hitchcock
CEO of Hitchcock Architects
My original plan was to attend Drexel but being that I wasn't a first year freshmen they wouldn't accept me into the Architecture program even though i had an outstanding application and portfolio as well as many excellent recommendations. The second option I had was going to Stevens Tech with that thing teaching. There was no way in hell I was sitting in any of her classes so when I was offered a full time position with where my co-op job was i took it. Now i may never get the chance to see CPBD, AIBD, NCARB, or AIA behind my name. Do you think it was a stupid thing that i refused to take her class?

My two cents worth: it is always better to go to college while you are young. You have plenty of time to make money later, and with a college degree you will usually make more of it. Case in point, my gf was married for 22 years and had no college. Now at her age (classified), she is going back to school in order to expand her job opportunities so she won't have to spend the rest of her life working jobs which require manual labor or working retail.
There will always be teachers you don't like, most colleges have more than one teaching the same course so you can switch for whatever reason. Sounds like you would have had such a difficult time with who this person was that you would not have been able to get any benefit from their classes. I wouldn't call anyone stupid for being true to what they believe. There are too many hypocrites in the world as it is. Just don't think that you will never be able to reach your dream. Keep an open eye and you might be surprised what will turn up.

Try an easier college! It really doesnt matter where you graduate from as long as you do.
Why stevens? They are really over priced, unless they gave you some cash, then again anywhere you go the achies have alot to do. Our achies are like trolls who never see the light of day. They easily outnuber the normal people at the school but they never leave there side of the campus.

Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology is a 2 year program where I could've gotten my asscoiates and eventually become a CPBD. Cost is about 10-15k. Drexel University is a 6 year program were i could get my bachelor degree and eventually become a licensed architect. cost is about 100-120k. i haven't given up yet. my plans are once i get married and buy a house to enroll in Drexel's evening architecture program. its one of only 2 accredited evening programs in the country. it'll take me about 7 years to complete and cost me i think half what the full time program costs.

didnt one of the Wachowski brothers get his junk changed from boy to girl? meh school is overrated. you learn more lessons with the hard knocks of life than behind a desk and your nose in a book. but you also wont be able to compete with those who have a piece of framed pig or lambskin if you want that cushy neck-tie wearing job.
