winter wonderland!

Well Friday night we finally got dumped on with snow here in Ottawa, Ontario.!!! Finally got to see what it was like to drive the new P5 in the snow. I have the rims and tires that came with the car still. I had no problems and let me tell you, we got like 10cm or more of snow!! I got stuck once for like 5 seconds but that was from the mounds of snow left from the plows. Just drive carefully and go slow. My last car was a terror in the snow. I had a precidia. Loved her but she was an ice box. This is going to be a fun winter!!!!

Fortunately all the snow was gone from the roads by this morning.. but it was still on the trees and hills in the parks! Ooooh pretty. It's abput damned time .. now if only some resorts can open up and I can get snowboarding .. which was the original idea of getting the car.

I hate the snow, but I love playing in my Protege on the ice. I don't have a p5, but my '00 loves the ice. I went doing doughnuts on the empty back roads tonight with a couple friends. But, you gotta watch out for the other drivers on the main roads. I watched a guy slam into a cement barrier tonight about 50 ft behind me after he spun out then over corrected still stepping on the gas. Then, just over the hill about 1/4 mile away, a four car accident where two of the cars were badly smashed up had just happened. So, drive safe out there! Only have your fun where no one is around and there's nothing to run into!

I second that. It's okay to kill yourselves and crash your car, just don't drag others down with you

I meant my last car was an icebox. I had a precidia and the heat was shitty.

lol no a/c...in Florida that would suck!! I've never had air conditioning in a car or house.! I live in southern Ontario but there are hot days here too. Finally got air conditioning with my P5. Now I'll be the envy of my whole family come next summer...hehehehe

I was out friday in the snow in my RX-7 on summer tires (my protege isn't road ready yet) It was absolutely horrible trying to get anywhere in the 7. We got about 10cm (4 inches) of snow here to.. heavy wet slippery ****!
Anywho I don't know if my car was pointed straight down the road once that night... I would drive down roads doing about 20km/h with the car on a 15degree angle.. I was also drifting the car like a **** on empty streets around corners
Kind of a pain but hella fun at the same time

I also did stuff in empy parking lots... and any of the somewhat dangerous stuff I did on roads was on empty rural roads...

I'm sure a lot of people out there have heard of Buffalo, NY, and its wintery reputation.

Well I'd just like to tell everyone that there was no snow here last month (a record) and it has snowed only one day so far this month! So I have yet to test the snow worthiness of the MP5 out yet.

well... after driving past Buffalo on my way home last night talon4x4 might have some new insight into the P5 in the snow Looks like they got 6 feet of the stuff in 5 days

I had the pleasure of having to find an alternate route home last night as the NY state thruway was closed between Buffalo and Rochester. In this time I managed to get some highway snow driving (a few inches on the road out near Buffalo) and some on the highways south of Rochester. The P5 did very well though the lightness of the car makes it a little squirely if you are not careful (of course you should be careful when snow drving anyways). With the snow tires on the car (LM22s) it was fine and I was having no troubles at all! I am not sure that the stock tires would have fared so well.

happy new year
