yeh I was going to say that. Color pictures were avalible but the equiptment would have run into the thousands of dollars. That would be over 20,000 for the average joes today. I have bought to cameras and I love photography but, I only payed $1500 for my minolta A1. I can't imagine anybody back then buying color cameras. Unless they where Andrew Carnegie or somthing.

Go back and check out the web site again. It is actually color photos using a process called Autochrome using potato starch. They used 3 colors to achive the finished product and that is why the color looks a little off.
