2003 Protege Engine Block For Sale
I posted this on the "other" forums and will do so here;
My girlfriend's sister's boyfriend (say that five times fast, ya'll) works at a nearby Mazda dealer and they were cleaning out the parts stockroom and found a Mazda engine they thought I might be interested in. Turns out its the block, crankshaft and pistons (all assembled) from a 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege. As best as he can recall, the turbo went kaput on the car - the engine itself was ok, but warranty called to replace it all anyhow. The crank spins free, the cylinder walls are spotless and the rods/pistons are intact. The pistons show some carbon buildup but the flywheel mounting point, the oil filter screw etc look spotless.
I may decide to use it as a starting point for a forged buildup (unlikely thanks to time and money) or if I get a decent offer here I'll gladly sell/ship it thier way. If people want pics I'll snap some and post them up as well. Post here, PM me or email me if interested.
