I'm only attending two shows these year myself and only showing in one maybe. I'm into the AutoX/road racing stuff. FYI the SCCA HQ is in Colorado. Yup I guess if you had a Jeep or great big 4x4 you'd be good to go. FYI I grew up in the four corners area. Since your "Scene" isn’t all the big yet you'll be the innovator not the emulator!

Excellent point. I'm still interested in the carbon fiber hood, but probably more interested actual performance parts. I'd rather not tie up money in something that doesn't seem to be going anywhere fast. I want the hood solely for improving front to rear weight distribution. I can do that by moving the battery to the trunk. That's where my $200 is going until we at least have some interest from a few more people.

David... I'm willing to wait, I just don't like knowing that all this effort is going to be good for next year. Here in Colorado... we don't have too much of a scene yet because we don't have a big enough track and the big shows don't come through here. So we're limited on showtime for imports. Three big shows for the entire year. Other than that, it's the street racing scene and I personally don't like that since I'm against it and don't like running from the cops just to go show off my car amongst the other import'ers. hehe. That's all i'm saying. I want the hood really bad. But, some people might end up backing out eventually if they think their CF hood money is gonna be better spent on a product they can actually have. :[ That's why I want to get this thing going... so we can all be happy and have our hoods ;D

Alright, the sad news. Im gonna have to drop the deal. I dont want to keep holding everyones money on this & nothing happening with it. I had one more person contact me about ordering it but he wouldnt be able to for a couple more months. And that only made 7 (minus one person that wanted their money back already :-) So, I'll refund the 4 of you in a couple of days. I even tried to get another shop to take a couple but they never got back with me. And, I even tried to get another company to make it just make fewer but they would have been even more expensive! And, based on how long Fiber Images is taking to make the Protege5 hood (which was supposed to be done middle of March & we are still waiting on!!) it would probably end up being July or later before we had hoods to ship! I dont want to have you guys wait that long. So, sorry but its over. I wish it happened but there just arent enough people out there wanting it.

Thanks for all the effort Mitch. Please hold on to the list of people currently interested in a CF hood. If some NEW person is interested in a hood just contact everyone and maybe we can try again. You never know if some random person is going to want one of these things.

I had 1 more person e-mail me wanting it but he wouldnt be able to do it for a few more months. He said he may have 1 other person interested. But, If I can get a couple more people, I'll post again. Is anyone wanting to put their deposits towards something else? E-mail me if you are looking for anything.

99-00CF Hood deal revived

Hay folks,
Lets see where we stand since I've gotten three more additional interest in a CF Hood. If you’re seriously interested please contact Mitch at www.protege5online.com or sqrbean@midsouth.rr.com about details. The deal is the same as last time but Mitch needs ten confirmed deposits before we start manufacturing of the hoods. Deposit will be around $250.00 and non-refundable if you back out of the CF hood deal if the deal falls on its *** as it did already Mitch will be more than happy to return your deposit. Reply with your name and user ID and status if interested.
Thanks

Hey guys, just to let you know. The prices on the Protege5 hoods have chaned. Those hoods are looking to be 700.00 for the black shipped. FI changed the price when they where getting them finished up. So, I would expect the price to be the same on the 99-2000 hoods. Since I'll be getting 10 orders straight up for these, I'll be able to do them for 680.00 shipped. Red, Yellow, or Blue kevlar weave would add 110.00 to the total. This is shipping in the US also. Other would be different. And, paypal would add a 2.5% fee (so a black hood would be 697.00 with paypal shipping in the US) If we can get the 10 & I can get 200.00 non refundable deposits from all 10, I can do this. I wont start taking deposits until I get 10 names on the list that are willing to give the deposit & wait possibly 3 months (I do think its worth it, the FI hoods are the best). Then, if something happens where the deal is dropped (Like FI coming back & saying 4 or 5 months!) then I'll refund your 200.00 minus any paypal fees that where charged by paypal (I wont make anything, I just cant be out anything for doing this if it doesnt happen...and the paypal fee would be less than 5.00 for a 200.00 deposit anyhow) So, I hope this works this time. I dont mind doing this but I've already put alot of time into it already & had to drop the deal once. Im hoping I dont have to do the same again!! Ya'll talk to your friends with 99-2000 Proteges & talk them into it too!!
