B&M Short Shifters on Sale
#2
Perfect timing.
Bump
I'd just decided on the B&M since my stock shifter throw's been annoying me since I drove my car off the lot 2 weeks ago. From what I've found in the archives here, this should be my ticket. I was looking around for suggestions one where to buy, and I came across this, aitn't life grand... I just sent you an e-mail, I'm already anxious.

Mitch's the man
Thanks bro. I got my shifter the day after I dropped an e-mail. SUPER responsive, and I was honestly suprised to see the box so soon.
As for the Q's on the shifter. Alot of ppl here'll tell you to check the archives, etc, but it's jsut as easy to answer...
shifter height will be lowered about 1.75" (or roughly the same as the stock shifter without the extension that you get if you've got anything but a MP3 or MSP)
I reasearched shifters for awhile before deciding on the B&M mostly because it keeps near-stock height. The benefit of this is that it's faster to get from the steering wheel to the shift **** (the reason some cars like civicSI are going to dash-mount setups) sure miata's have little stubs, but they're sitting on top of consoles that're nearly wheel-height to start. The Kartboy and most others dramatically reduce height, and if style's what you're going for, then they're the ones. The other pluses of the B&M are CNC construction, counterweighting, and they come with their own bronzeoil (pretty much perma-lube) upper pivot setup. Not to mention the fact that B&M"s been doing shifters since before most of us were born, so they apparantly know their stuff.

yeah....i want a little shorter stick height, b/c I am getting a Momo Raptor shift ****, and if you have a tall stick, it just looks retarded. The Momo will raise the height about 1 inch. Thanks anywho.

BUY THESE
Okay, so I finally got mine installed last weekend. It's perfect. My car now feels "right" the shifter always pissed me off before, and now, after the initial strange sensation, I don't even think about it. As far as height goes, I didn't actually measure, but it's definately lower. Almost too low, make fun of me all you want, but, I'd actually like it a tad taller, and may switch to a taller ****, but i assume It'll just start feeling right as I get used to it. Guess it's a damn good thing I didn't get a Kartboy. Additionally after playing witht he stock bushing setup, and how functional, but cheap it is, I don't see why you'd want to run with anything but B&M's CNC'd aluminumhousing/bronzeoil setup.
Again, nothing but Stellar service from Mitch. I got my shifter the next day, no futz, no hidden charges. Actual cost was way below the 130, then shipping and paypal's cut bumped it to exactly that. I'll without a doubt be looking to protege5online to take care of me in the future.
