UPDATE

UPDATE

I took the oil caps in for anodizing today. A little later than I thought but I wanted to spend a little longer cleaning them up... I'm guessing with the long weekend I should have them back tues, but most likely on Wed next week, then I'll start the engraving/shipping.

If you haven't emailed me your order, do so now gujustud@shaw.ca

Oil Cap Thread

Well I was lucky enough to have a fellow member of the Vancouver club do some researching for me. Since he was installing short shifters for the last few days following our group buy, he checked out the oil caps on several protege5/sedans that came by.

Every oil cap lines up differently. So, unfort, the oil cap you get (if you choose to) may or MAY NOT line up exactly (the logo that is).

We talked about it at a meet over the weekend, and honestly, its not a BIG woopsie. I mean worst comes to worse, if you're showing off your engine at a show, just give the cap a slight turn and voila, its all lined up...

hopefully this doesn't cause a problem...

Fits MX-3's

On another note, during our mini meet with the MX-3 club, I also found out that the oil caps i'm making fix the MX-3 engine as well. So incase you own a MX-3, or know someone who does... spread the news. I've already sent a email to the MX-3 club admins in case they are looking at getting some MX3 oil caps made up...

Well I just called the place thats doing the anodizing, they won't be ready till tomorrow actually. So I'll pick em up tomorrow, and start the engraving this week. So I'll be hopefully ready to ship end of this week...

90210: Are you just going to pick it up directly from me, since you'll be here soon?

Got the oil caps back today, they look REALLY good, can't wait to start engraving them, then they'll look REALLY sweeeeeeeet!!!

You'll notice in the pictures there are some "funny" looking oil caps (the 3 spoke ones)... I made only about 10 of these, they are in the design of the ROTARY engine in a sense, triangle shaped. I only made a few of these as "special" ones.. they only come in blue/red/silver and those are priced at $35USD. Leme know what you think of the pics!

btw, some pictures are dark, and some are brighter (ie: flash). I did this so you get a sense of the color of the caps, as some people find the blue to bright (not dark enough) but this is due to the flash. The blue is pretty dark.

Furthur Update

I've started the engraving process today. I'm just doing the MP5 ones right now, and I must admit they look WICKED!!!!!!!!

Engraving after getting them anodized was a good deal, cuz it REALLY stands out. Unfort my sister left for Australia for 5 weeks with the digital camera, but I'll take some video of my camcorder, and grab some frames from there so you get the idea.

The Protege ones, and other custom ones I'll be starting tomorrow, need a better bottlenose to do the engraving...
