Great deal on cross drilled/slotted rotors
#91
heh...do i brake hard why else would I need drilled rotors? j/k
no, i think the pads the guy sent out from the group buy (the 'performance' pads) were real ****, because they are wearing fast, although they have excellent friction. I have probably cut 25 feet off my 60-0.
I just ordered cross drills for the front.
...and they're not specifically slotted, they just have some sort of slit for air to escape. No worry, sooner or later it'll deteriorate leaving just the holes lol.

i noticed the rotors started discoloring really quickly after installation, which is odd, because brembo's usually have a zinc coating to prevent oxidation, but then again, they are only oxidizing on the hub and outside lip, not where the pad contacts the disc (although it could be rusting there and the pad just keeps cleaning it.)
they were bought in the group buy, 99 + shipping plus the 30 dollar pads + shipping, i think the total came out to like 154 or something. if your curious as to the exact amount i'll look it up in my paypal account.
and...i think im ganna edit that sig :\

heh, thats possible, the rotors from the forum buy, although advertised as brembo's and shipped in blembo boxes, don't seem to be brembo's. if they are, they have been modified in many ways. the slot pattern must be custom or not yet updated on brembo's site as a current pattern, and the zinc must have been removed with sulfur oxide (the chlorinating chemical to remove zinc I believe) although it could be done with massive heat too. I think the zinc may have been remove with heat during custom drilling, or these rotors were ordered without zinc to begin with, which i don't think is an option. all brembo's to my knowledge have some form of rust protection (as they should, they're amung the most expensive rotors around)
190 on ebay isn't bad, but the group buy was a steal. its unfortunate a few people seem to have been jived but I think its going to clear up, the guy did ship a few customers their parts.

They didn't come with coating, coating was a couple bucks extra. Plus 20 people were supposed to go in on the group buy and only a couple people actually paid, everyone one else didn't come through so the hole thing got ****** up
