HELP - Coolant Temperature Sensor
HELP!
I have a 1992 Protege LX, DOHC, 5-speed. I need the electrical connector and as much wire leading to the connector that plugs into the top of the coolant temperature sensor. The sensor is screwed into the thermostat housing. Somehow, this connector on my car got bumped and it is now cracked and will not stay connected to the sensor. Yesterday I was driving in a bunch of stop and go traffic and my car stalled. I looked down at the cluster and the temp gauge was HOT. I was able to coast safely off the road and I let it cool down and it restarted just fine. When I got home I let it idle in the driveway and noticed the temp gauge climbing toward "H", but I didn't hear the fan kick on (as I usually do). I checked under the hood and saw that the connector was not connected to the sensor. As long as you hold the connector in the plug of the sensor, the fan will run, but as soon as you let go, the fan shuts off. So, if anybody has one of these laying around (PLEASE PLEASE!!) or is parting out a 1st Gen Protege LX, I would like to buy that connector, and possibly the coolant temp sensor too. Thanks!

For a Q&D fix, a little silicone on the outside of the plug (careful not to get in in the plug, or on the contacts), will hold the plug in place. Just hold it in place for a few minutes, and then don't drive the car until the next morning and it shhould hold just fine.
