Parting out on a MP3

Hey!
"Why not find that special someone who needs a donor ECU to pick the program and then re-flash everyone else?"
We would all overnight ship our ECUs to _____ and then get them back overnight...
Charge $ for the service. I would pay up to $100 + shipping to/from for the priviledge!
Think big! Think helping tha' brutha's out! Please.
I believe you could get more $$ for the effort and then sell the ECU at the end!
Howzaboutit?!

That is a very good suggestion. The trouble is, how to dump the software back into the ECU, through the OBD connection? I think most car companies/ OEM dealerships have a specialized tool to do this, that goes well beyond a simple scan tool. In this case, we are asking not just to "read" the software as a mechanic would do to check a P-code, but to "write" to the program.
Anyone have any experience with this, as it relates to Mazda controllers?

there's a tech about 30 miles away from me that does this...i'm going to have him scan my mp3's ecu to my p5's...you have to have the ecu in a car to do it.

I know it seems as if i am ignoring all of you. This is not the case. I am waiting for the situation of my car to be announced. The USAA insurance company is taking their damndest time in straightening out the situation. They have had possesion of my car for a week and a half now. I am beginning to get VERY frustrated with the situation i am in. I am so sorry for the delay in pricing. I will not give out prices until i get word that my car is totalled. I am again apologizing for the long delay. I will keep you all posted on the situation as i get word. Once again sorry for the delay.
