What type of ProtegeClub decal would you like?
As being discussed in Attention Members/Owners thread, we have a decision that needs to be made regarding the medium in which a small ProtegeClub.com decal is to be printed on and applied to the window of our Proteges.
Please take the poll so we can see which ones the majority of the members on this board prefer!
remember, we're just deciding on the medium only, the actual graphic design is to be determined later...

think about it, if you have vinyl applied to the outside of the window, it can be damaged and need replacing more often. if you have a static cling on the inside, you can even transport it between two (or more) different cars.

i posted this in the other thread... most of us have tinted windows. a decal inside, behind the tint, is not going to show up outside. i've tried this and it didnt work. i wanted to put a broncos window cling in the back window during the season, and i tried putting an american flag there after the sep 11 ****. it doesnt show through. and i have lightly tinted windows.

It's a dead heat!
maybe we should think about making both types? Might cost more but it'll fit people's needs better...
a small window cling and a larger exterior vinyl, what do y'all think?

Here's a bonus tip for all... it's not on the options, but it should be... how about a window cling... on the outside... My Gosh... it's amazing... What a concept. No adhesive, no tint worries.
I used to know a guy who had a vinyl sign shop, and he pinstriped my Pop's truck as a trade for a set of offroad tires. That stuff goes on without adhesive, and it doesn't come off. If you spend about 3 hours pickin' at it, you can get a corner up, and then peel the whole thing off... the rest cleans up easy. No adhesive = no residue left-over at all.

interesting... I was thinking about putting that in as an option, but then I figured that could be easily stolen by someone with long enough fingernails, so I didn't put it in...
Also, would weathering affect the static clinging effect?
any examples that you can show of this exterior window cling?

I don't have any pictures, but I know that stuff stayed on Pop's truck more than 4 years...
Why would anyone want to steal a protegeclub.com sticker. I mean, they're bad *** an all, but they're not going to be *that* expensive are they? Who would want one besides people that can buy them here?

I work in a vinyl graphics shop (I'm the designer) and though static cling is an option, I do not recommend it. With anything less than a perfect application it can come off, peel, bubble, or discolor. A static cling graphic is made using a 4 color process on the statc material, which also means the material is larger than the actual grachic- people looking at your ride will notice this and will will look cheap. Its also more costly. Your best bet is a vinyl graphic applied to the outside of the glass (beacause of the tinting concerns)- they're made for vehicle lettering so damage isn't a concern unless you really abuse your car- but I can't imaging anything you could do that would damage it unless you were specifically trying to do so. I'd be happy to draw up some designs if you give me a general idea what you're looking for.
