Would anyone be interested in this manifold?
I have a spare 2003.5 Protege 5 intake manifold that I can remove the VTCS from and port for you. If anyone is interested, I will sell it for $100 plus shipping. If you are interested, let me know and I can have it finished by Wednesday.

Okay, here is what I am going to do:
Since it is too much work for me to find a bunch of cores, I will offer a porting and VTCS removal service to you. You send me your core and $50 + return shipping (it is light, so it should be cheap) from Zip 25271 (make sure you have a re-useable box) and I will port your manifold port exits, remove the VTCS, and plug the end with a pipe plug (I will not JB Weld the holes between the ports as this makes no difference in performance [there are already port crossovers from the factory anyway] and I do not trust JB Weld not to come loose and fall in your engine). I will also leave the application of Loctite to the VICS screws to you since you will have to take the two halves of the manifold apart to make sure there are no shavings that can get into your engine anyway. That gasket can be re-used, and it is a simple procedure to remove one screw at a time and put some Loctite on them (trust me, it is a good idea).
Now before you start flooding me with requests, please wait until I post the pics later this evening so you can decide if your are satisfied with what you will get. If you don't like it after you get it then too bad, you saw the pics. Also, if you install it wrong, then that is your problem.
I will only take 10 people at first, and then when I am done with those, I will make a list for 10 more. I'll post the pics tonight and start the list, so wait until then.

Sorry about the crappy pics, but it was windy as hell outside, and the sun was beating down.
As you can see there are visible parting lines where the ports raised a little for the VTCS valves to rest against them, but I assure you that it is just a visible line. The humps are gone. You do not want to grind away too much in the name of looks considering how thin these intakes are. I can mirror polish the area (it is already smoothed) if you like the look (without any performance gain), but why bother as once it is on, you can't see it.
Now, if you are interested, let's start a list. Once I have 10 people it will stop, and I will PM you guys to set up shipment. After those are done (should take about a week or so for all 10), then I will take 10 more.

Yep. Good clean porting job. I sleep better knowing i don't have the 'Screws of Death' looming over me....
It does feel stronger in the upper RPMs. Matt was quick in responses and delivery.
So... Anyone want to buy my stock manifold (i could ship direct to Matt) to create a ready spare? With an intake ready-to-install you can do the job in afternoon. Then you sell your old one and so on and so on....

Yea, Da P-Funk! had to pay $100 for his because he did not have a spare one to provide me. I will port yours for $50, but I have no spares to trade out. If I have the spare money in a couple of weeks, I may buy some if I can get them cheap.
Right now, I can say that once I recieve your manifold, the turn-around time will be a max of 2 days. 1 day to port and clean up, and shipped the next day.
