[quote] im interested as well. another question, say the battery goes dead will it flash back to the normal settings or will stay with the mp3 ecu map??? [quote]

No, this is a permanent re-flash. The only way to change it is to get it reflashed again.

shipping will be dictated by what you are willing to pay for. I don't ever jack up shipping or anything. Most times I ship stuff out at my expense and then just tell you what it cost me.

I'm 99% sure it will retain the newest map selected after a power loss. If for whatever reason the map reverts back I will re-flash it for free+shipping.

Also, some new info I got today at my sales meeting is that the reflasher2 will allow me to print a map file log to include with every job. It will show the code BEFORE the flash and the CODE after the flash. This way there will be no question as to people feeling ripped off.

sounds good. Also, a little info I found out is that I have to purchase all of the software for each manufacturer...I'll get all the cables and hardware for GM, ford, chrysler, honda/acura, toyota/lexus/scion, mazda.....but I have to buy the software for each import seperatly. Only the domestic maps come with the tuner..

I can purchase OE maps for a few hundred each direct from the manufacturer.

the maps yes...the software, no. Basically the program to install to the new map is a few hundred.

I'm going to buy the mazda program first and when funds become available I'll buy the others.

I may be able to help you with maps. I have just invested in a method to read the stock ECU's through the J3 port on the back. I have also asked if the files can be modified, I have to send a copy of the .bin to a programmer, and if it's anything like the Fords, we may be able to actually tune the stock ECU !!!

i can tell you right off the bat they are totally different types of maps. The only thing in common between the ford/azda ecu's is the case.

I wish you the best of luck...i really do. Let me know what you come up with. I'd rather invest in that that paying over $1500 for something to give us stock maps.

I got linked to this thread from mazdas247.com and I decided to create a profile on here so I could post that I'm interested too...

little did I know that I actually already have a profile on here...I just never used it I guess!

one question I have is that on the other forum there was talk about getting a new intake manifold gasket as this mod can cause it to heat up a lot. The OEM one is made of a material that tends to dry up and crack when it gets too hot I guess? http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showt...hp?t=123662420

the only mention of the gasket is to replace them when you are doing the VTCS removal as they disintigrate when you take the manifolds off. If you are just doing the reflash you don't have to do anything.

It did read a little funny in the other forum

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO WITH THE FLASH IS PLUG IT IN AND ENJOY!!!

nothing funny
