both of those pictured are currently on ebay.. but you can contact them to get any finish on any valve cover. as you can see, both pictured are 626-type covers (no bolts for the coil packs on top, no raised circles around those two.. but yes, has the sensor hole and stuff)

I have a stock P5 one for you with a like-new gasket. If you need a pic, I can take one tomorrow, I just need to get the valve cover outta my storage shed.
How about...I dunno...50 bucks shipped?

Plus they offer a ton of finishes. I saw their work in person at the Carlisle Style and Performance show (I think that was the name of that Carlisle show) and wow.. it's really nice stuff.
p.s. if anyone with an MSP buys one of their purdy valve covers, will you sell me your stock one? I haven't had my MSP plastic engine cover on for many months because the welds on the DG brackets broke.. so I have to cut off the last bolt holding the engine cover to the bracket.. never going back to using those

Yea I like those a lot as well Kansei, but they're a bit too much for me. Plus I'd have to get the 626 coil packs & wires too which would just make it even more expensive. I'd like to upgrade, but my stock ones are still good so why bother.
Oh and the core charge is there, $80 too!!
Core Charge:
Note: this auction is for the valve cover as shown above. The valve cover is already powder coated, in stock, and ready for immediate shipment. This auction is not for a powder coating service, where the customer is forced to send in their own cover and be without a running car for several weeks. Because we are supplying one of our valve covers rather than forcing the customer to send in their own cover, there is a mandatory core charge deposit covering the value of the physical valve cover. You must add the deposit during the payment checkout process. Should you forget or choose not to pay the core charge, the partial payment will not be refunded and the cover will not ship out. The core deposit is not negotiable.
The core charge deposit for this auction is $ 80 . If you have never heard of a core charge deposit or are simply unfamiliar with the process, there are two links directly below. First, click the overview button to read about the process, then follow up by clicking the policy button.

doh missed that part. I'm fairly certain that is completely against the eBay terms of service as it is a way to skirt around paying eBay fees on the true final price... much like people on ebay who charge 50 dollars to ship an item that wouldn't cost more than 5 dollars to ship priority mail. Maybe the TOS has a clause for core charges but I don't remember reading it.
So you want a 626 valve cover.. but don't want to do the coil pack conversion.. I don't follow. There's probably just 1-2 years (or none at all) of 626 that had the coil packs on top like us. I can't say I've ever seen one. any 98-01 626 engine photo I find is just the 'normal' 626 valve cover with 4 plug wires, two coils mounted in the front, and the cam sensor hole on the left side.

I changed my mind after I found out how much the 626 coils and wires cost. I don't feel like dropping an additional $180 on coils & wires that do the same job as my P5 ones. At first I said I'd take the 626 cover cuz I knew it would fit, but now that I know how much more money I'd have to spend to make it all work out I think I'll just stick to the Protege cover and call it good. Sorry about the confusion, good catch Kansei.
