WTB: Motor

WTB: Motor
I managed to hydrolock my motor the other day. I was able to get it running today, and had it idle for a few minutes before taking it out on the road. As I was backing out of the driveway, the rod or something broke and shot through the block. It also managed to bust though the corner of th A/C compressor, so I had freon leaking. Anyway, I'm going to need a motor. Anyone have good links, connections, or happen to have a fresh one laying around?
Thanks,
Gene

damn man, sorry to hear that. Your best bet is to go to www.car-parts.com and do a search. Depending on what mileage you want you can get engines anywhere from $1200 to $500 for whole engines. Also keep in mind, when searching that the FS in the protege was used for many years and many models (626, mp3, msp, etc)....different yards list them differently.
p.s. I also have a spare AC compressor here (less than 15K miles on it) if you need one cheaply.

If I pick up a non-Protege FS motor, will it still be the same long block? I'd assume there'd be some differences in the intake. Just want to ensure, I have all the ports needed for the various sensors.
So far this sounds like a steal: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW

That looks like a decent deal, they had that up a few weeks ago for $175, but I guess they cant sell it and are going cheaper, shipping probably gonna be like $250, but even still, seems like a decent deal!
