AutoX pics

My very first AutoX was today. AWESOME!!! I think I have found a new hobby. I didn't score to well - my fastest time was 78.XXX seconds, while the average was the low 70s and 60s. Oh well. Not bad for my first time. Oh yeah, I was the only one is STS class, so technically I won something. Woohoo!

Here were some odd cars:

This Buick Regal was a RENTAL. This guy rents a different car every month just for AutoXing. He drove it like a bat out of hell...all I could say was DAMN.

Your typical riced civic. The guys driving were playing their bling bling music while driving the course. They popped the hood earlier that morning, and it looked like there were no modifications at all. LMAO

This Prizm was driven by a group of teenagers. They drove it pretty well IMO...

Misc shots:

Hehe, yeah it does.

A guy came up to me after my last run and complimented my car. He thought it was one of those new Infiniti's. I told him it was a Protege, he said oh yeah, those things. "What does it have, a 2.2L four?" "No, it's a 1.6." His eyes popped out. Heh heh heh... I went on and told him about the handling of these cars, he was pretty impressed.

My next mod is the MP3 struts/springs. I'm getting both at the same time, so it will be a little while for me to save up the money.

I've seen an Audi do it with 19s or 20s. One of them, but I was like He was still cornering hard too.

Yeah, the 17s were perfectly fine for autoxing. I think the main reason most people use smaller wheels while autoxing is b/c of the tire cost and frequent replacement. I found this out the hard way. Next time I'm using my stock steelies and Firestones 'till they are BALD. Then some nice Falken Azenis's will be on them.
