How much did you pay for that? Think it will look nice on my car, too.

The only advantage I see of the bug deflector over the magnetic bra is long-term issues with paint.

Water may not get under that bra, and that's a good thing - if it does, it'll ruin the paint.

Also, the rest of your hood will weather from sun and the elements, while the area under the bra will not. If you leave it in place for 6 months or a year, and then take it off, you will see a difference in the paint where the bra was, and there is no way to remedy that. It won't match the rest of the hood or the car.

Not knocking your purchase AT ALL - I think the mag bras look a helluva lot better than ANY vinyl hood bra or full-nose mask, and yours looks especially good. I'm just pointing out a few of the pitfalls of any car bra, and the reasons I chose the deflector instead.

Looks sharp, though!

Give it 6-8 months. It will look like ****. I had the magnetic bra on my White P5. After 6 months of taking it on and off to wash the car, it had ripped and was falling apart.

I just installed the bug guard and am MUCH happier. I can't believe how well that thing is made. Best of all? It doesn't touch the paint at all. It will let sunlight hit the paint under it so that it doesn't cause a fade. After 6 monhts of the magentic bra, my car had some minor fade and a few scratches from that stupid thing. Boooo.

Hopefully you have better luck...

Can someone help me out with the part number or where you get the bug guard? I went to the dealership and no one knew anything of course.

Thanks
Joe

Here's on for auction on eBay, and is the same one I bought, from the same seller.

Fine seller to deal with - everything went smoothly:

Post Magetic bra for sale

Would anyone be interested in buying a used magnitic bra. I know a friend who just traded in his P5 for a 1.8 turbo golf and has his used bra just lying around the house. The bra has only been used for 1 month and in still pretty good condition. Im sure he wouldn't letting go of it for a good price.

I had a magnetic bra for about 6mths, then it started to crack and tear.

Many people have complimented how it looks on the car, and it does indeed look very nice.

Wish they could make a better product tho, why ruin a good thing?

Here is the link to the Magnabra people:

http://www.magnetbra.com/index.html

I just bought one for my wife's Galant and it fits well.

There is an issue with color fade, if you leave the bra (any type) on for long periods of time.

I've had the Mazda nose mask on my Protege since I picked it up. My car is the Sunlight Silver Metallic and the bra has been in place for 1 year.

I keep my car garaged both at home and while parked at work, so there is no fade issue on my car. Hood and front bumper look like the day I picked up the car.

The Magnabra is just soft magnetic material. It comes with a separate edge piece that overlaps the bra on top and your hood on the bottom. This holds the magnetic sheet in place at high speeds, and is pretty easy to take on and off - just pull.

I use the Magnabra when we take the car on the highway to protect from rock chips. So far, it has done the job. When I come back from a highway trip, I can see where rocks, bugs, etc. have hit the bra. Most rocks, and stuff seem to hit within the first few inches of the hood area.

The prices are about $45 direct from Magnabra. This is about 1/2 what a full nose mask will cost from most Manufacturers.

Thats where the odds are, but I guess my luck was bad. About a week after I put my magnabra on, I had a rock hit my hood about 1/2" away from the bra! Boy was I pissed off. I wanted to go after that trucker and ... Lets just say I wasnt happy

Don't leave your car in the sun with that bra on . Your hood will back and be hot as hell to the touch ... Seriously you can fry an egg on that thing ..

Same seller I bought mine from - nice unit - good fit, easy install, and very secure. Good seller, too.
