Check out this Mazda.
I know It's not a Protege but it is Mazda.
and yes thats a V8 cobra engine cramed under his hood, and to top it off its on NOS
I would imagine he's not unknown here in E-town, but it was new to me.
Wonder how fast he can lay a track?

That's sick......There used to be a company here in the US that would do 5.0 Mustang engine conversions on Miatas back when the Miata first came out. I think they were called Monster Miata or something like that. These things screamed. You could get any level of horsepower you wanted all the way up to a supercharged 5.0 in these things. They were like a modern day Shelby Cobra.

my opinion is that a v8 totally kills what the miata is all about: balance. sure that thing probably goes like a rocket, but can it turn like a slot car? doubt it. remember, a wise man once said: if you can't go fast with 90hp, 900hp won't help you. (bob hall, father of the miata)

they use to think it was cute...the seats that they use to put in them had little GODZILLIA'S sewn into the backs...and that was their emblem that they put on the front quarter panels too.

the supercharged 302 Miata was called the "mega monster miata". There is a company in Austrailia that does 13B (Twin turbo RX7 engine) amd lexus quad cam swaps in miatas as well. The 13B is a good option....closer the same weight as the Miata's engine.
