First Ever Car upgrade

here's pictures of the Injen CAI I got for free as a replacement for the OBX SRI. the only thing out of place is that the MAF sensor is acutaly on backwards.. but I fixed it before I reset the ECU so it's all the same.I had to ghetto rig the coolant container a bit..as the brackets provided didn't seem to be exactly designed for the protege.. but it's on there good enough.

So did you buy it with those wires and coil packs relocated that way or did you do that as well? I've never seen that before ...

you mean that solenoid valve that's resting on the intake?

that's acutaly broken...the top tube is bearly hanging on for life.. I just use some nylon zip ties and ancored it to the wires that are closest to the firewall. The bracket provided didn't do crap anyway. The tube was broken @ the base of the unit, and some silicon glue is holding it together atm.. I'm about to use some sealer caulk which will be a better seal.. be alot stronger than some silicon glue.. and will last 10 years.. but before that I gotta be gental with it.

No I mean the coil packs that the plug wires go into. Most Proteges I've seen have them on top of the valve cover, but yours go to the front. Check the attachment ...

ohh.. you mean those(just didn't see the word coil packs). well no, that's just how it is stock, it's a 2000 1.8L protege like macdaddy said. I've no idea why they're in the front, but it did make changing spark plugs a little easier for sure.

nope, no CEL.

I read just the shear increase in air the injen CAI gives might throw a CEL too..so if it does I'll post it.
