Talking Holy crap! I forgot I was a member...got an email from here :)

I think I came here way back for some questions I needed for my wife's protege.
Anyway, thought since I got an email, I'd say hey, and post pics of my ride. I love the new mazdaspeeds out now. They look great, especially the dark grey ones. Love that color...anyone here from San Antonio, anyway, here's my pics and a list of mods
These pics were with the skunk2 Coilovers, I now have progress springs

17" Silver Arospeed Statics with 215/45 Toyo FZ4
Fiber Images carbon fiber lip kit
Progress springs
Koni Yellows shocks
Comptech Rear Sway/Tie Bar combo
Injen Cold Air Intake
HP Header
Mugen Carbon Fiber Wing
Painted my headlights gunmetal
Clear corners
Skunk2 ****
Tint (the darkest I could go legally)
Rear Ingalls Camber kit
Honda oem negative camber bolt
Razo shift light
Sparco grip pedals

Best time I can get is 15.5 with i/h and some heavy 17's not too bad I guess...

thanks I get crazy looks all the time...like, whoa! a new si that actually looks good
I used to hate these damn cars. I had a jrsc 97 EX and cracked jokes about them all time. Well, I test drove it and fell in love then stepped out of the car and thought for a while and knew I needed to at least drop it asap. damn 4X4

track numbers (edit, nevermind, saw your reply )? I have a slip up top, if that's what you mean. 1/4 times of course vary for everyone depending on the track, environment, experience...etc. Some get 15.5 stock, some don't. I feel my time is pretty good for some damn heavy 17's I have.

As for hp. They have 160hp and 132tq from the factory. That's about 135whp and 120wtq stock.

I got mine dynod when I had i/h/e (I used to have a comptech exhaust, but sold it, it was nice, but needed money)

Here's a dyno of i/h/e in June, freaking hot here in Texas. Some can get a little higher than this in better weather, about 150-155 with i/h/e. These dynos were done back to back, and I didn't get a chance to cool down

so youre on ClubSi huh? i am too! i started there after i got my 99 EBP Si in March of 02. no offense man, but i have always thought, and will always think, that the new Si's are the biggest mistake that Honda has ever made(besides the element of course).

hey, ill just let the members of this board decide, which looks better? my old car, or his?

youre right, everyone has their opinion. oh and yeah, i test drove one. was not impressed AT ALL. which leads me to the question, so youve never test driven a 99 Si huh? never experienced the sheer thrill of having VTEC kick in at 5600 RPM, and shifting at the 8000 RPM redline?

i must admit that i was looking forward to the release of the 2002 Si, until i saw the car itself and studied the rap sheet. upon first impression, the engine revisions looked all positive: increased displacement(from 1.6 to 2.0 liters), introduction of new intelligent variable valve timing and lift electronic control(i-VTEC), and the shifter looked funky, but promised short, presice throws. however, the i-VTEC only operates on the intake cam(uh-oh, no more kickass crossover), and they lowered the redline to 6750 RPM. then i realized what Honda had done. they had given the new Si nothing more than a mutated EX engine which yielded no power increase over the previous Si and only improving the torque by 20 lb/ft, all the while increasing the curb weight by more than 200 lbs(with styling that is bloated and piggish, i might add)! sad to say that i am disgusted with honda over this one. case in point, i had a buddy of mine who bought an 02 Si and put a CAI, header, exhaust, coilovers, and a chip into it, and i roasted him at the track with just a CAI and header! my 14.8 to his 15.3

but once again, i must assure you, EXavier, that i am not bashing you or your choice of vehicle, i am merely stating my opinions and the facts that were the foundation for them. you obviously love that car, and there is nothing i can do or say to make you less proud of it, and im glad for that.

so good luck and happy modding!
